Authorities say two adolescent girls were killed and a third was critically injured in a crash near Fairfax Station, Virginia. A 2019 Lexus 1S350 crashed around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 7400 block of Lee Chapel Road in the Fairfax Station area, according to Fairfax County police.
The Lexus was traveling north on the two-lane road when the driver lost control on a rise, drove off the road, and flipped onto its roof, according to investigators. Two of the teenagers died on the spot. According to authorities, first responders extracted the third girl from the Lexus and transported her to a hospital. According to police, she has suffered critical injuries.
Ariana Haftsavar, 16, was one of the two teens killed, according to her relatives. She was a sweet, compassionate teenager who aspired to be a lawyer and was constantly looking out for the younger kids. Ariana’s relatives stated that she was a passenger in the vehicle and was returning home from SAT class.
The family was getting ready for supper and had used an app to track Ariana’s location while they waited for her to return home. They stated they realized something was wrong when the location came to a halt on Lee Chapel Road, four miles from their home.
When Ariana’s family arrived, they witnessed the crash. “At that time, I broke down and dropped to the ground; I said I wanted to see her, but the police wouldn’t let me,” her father, Bahman Haftsavar, explained. “‘This is my world,’ I pressed him. She’s my child. ‘She is everything to me.'”
Ariana, according to Haftsavar, was a beautiful person, and they don’t know what they’ll do without her. “She was my only daughter, and I was trying to teach and raise her the best I could,” he explained. “She had a life ahead of her, but it was cut short. She is no longer present.”
Police have not published the victims’ identities, citing Virginia law that prohibits them from naming the victims without parental agreement. “It’s a tragic, horrible traffic crash, and our detectives are still looking into it,” Fairfax County Police Second Lt. James Curry said.

Residents near Lee Chapel Road told News4 that they have been warned about the road’s dangers for years. Another teen girl lost control of her automobile and died in a three-car crash along the same road in 2015. When traveling on the narrow, mountainous, and winding route, a memorial cross may also be seen.
“We’ve had to warn cab drivers to slow down because it’s going to drop on you,” homeowner Ed Kringer said. “It may be a fairly dangerous experience if you’re traveling fast or if it’s dark out.” “Ted Johnson, a local, stated.
Fairfax County Supervisor Pat Herrity stated that his office has attempted to enlarge Lee Chapel Road twice. Once in 2015, and again in 2017, they were unable to obtain finance. “This is a road we hear a lot about,” Herrity explained.
He plans to try again soon but says this isn’t the only route that has to be repaired. “As we’ve urbanized, we’ve had more traffic on roads that weren’t meant to handle it,” Herrity explained. The number of crashes on Lee Chapel Road has reduced over the last six years, according to data.
In 2017, there were 30 road accidents, and in 2021, there will be 19 accidents. The figures for 2022 are still incomplete. While detectives were on the scene, Lee Chapel Road between Route 123 and the Fairfax County Parkway was closed for many hours. It reopened at about 5 a.m. on Wednesday. According to authorities, the Lexus was the sole vehicle involved in the incident. Police suspect that speed had a role. They don’t think alcohol was.
