A body belonging to a missing Michigan physician who had been gone for five days was discovered in a frozen pond close to his house. On December 22nd, Dr. Bolek Payan was last seen leaving his place of employment, which was the Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Jackson, Michigan.
After a number of days during which he had “no contact with his employer, family or friends,” the Blackman-Leoni Public Safety Department announced on Facebook on Christmas Eve that he was a missing person and requested assistance from the general public in locating him. They made this request after writing that he had “no contact with his family or friends.”
On Tuesday, the department of public safety announced that divers had located Payan’s body and brought it to the surface. The video surveillance system in Payan’s home allowed the police officers looking into his disappearance to have access to it, and the footage they saw revealed that Payan had walked away from his house on the afternoon of December 22.
According to the public safety department, after investigating the area around Payan’s home with the assistance of K-9 dogs and drones, the decision was made to cut holes in the ice of a pond that was located on Payan’s property.
