Early Life

On December 2, 1983, Aaron Charles Rodgers was born in Chico, California. Edward Wesley Rodgers and Darla Leigh (née Pittman) are his parents. Before returning to Chico in 1997, the family had lived in Ukiah, California, Beaverton, Oregon, and other places. He went to Pleasant Valley High School, where he spent two years starting at quarterback.

He completed high school in 2002 and enrolled at Butte Community College to play football. He attributed his lack of interest in Division I programmes to his at the time very unattractive physical stature. He was allowed to transfer to the University of California, Berkeley after just one year of junior college because of his outstanding performance at Butte Community College, where he led the team to a 10-1 record and threw 26 touchdown passes in his freshman season.

College Career

Rodgers was selected to start at quarterback for the Golden Bears in their fifth game of the 2003 campaign (University of California, Berkeley). He broke numerous school records while he was there, and with a career interception rate of just 1.95 per cent, he currently retains the record at Cal. He decided to forego playing his senior season to join the 2005 NFL Draft after having a standout junior year in which he threw 24 touchdown passes and only 8 interceptions.

Professional Career

Rodgers was initially sure that the San Francisco 49ers, the team he grew up rooting for, would select him, but after they selected Utah’s Alex Smith, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers as the 24th overall choice. As Brett Favre’s backup quarterback during his rookie NFL season, he held that role until 2007. He didn’t spend much time playing throughout this period.

Rodgers was elevated to the starting quarterback spot in 2008 when Favre declared his retirement. Favre was dealt to the New York Jets despite ultimately coming out of retirement. In his debut season as a starter, he threw for more than 4,000 yards and over 28 touchdowns while only throwing 13 interceptions. He later assisted the Packers in winning Super Bowl XLV in 2011. He was voted Super Bowl MVP for his crucial contribution to his team’s victory.

Although he has yet to win a second Super Bowl, Rodgers continued to rank among the best players in professional football. His accomplishments include having the lowest regular-season interception percentage among quarterbacks currently in the league and having the longest streak of games without throwing multiple picks (41 games). In addition, he is one of just seven quarterbacks in the NFL with at least 1,000 passing yards in a single postseason and one of just five with a passer rating of at least 110 spanning several seasons.

Aaron received a great deal of flak for lying about his COVID immunisation status during the 2021 season. After he tested positive and reporters pressed him for an official response regarding his status, he made the admission. After that, Rodgers stepped up his anti-vaccine rhetoric by advancing several demonstrably erroneous hypotheses and assertions.

Business Ventures and Other Work

Previously, a Milwaukee-area restaurant had the names of both Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun. However, following Braun’s PED controversy, the eatery closed. The first active NFL player to own a portion of an NBA team is Aaron Rodgers. When he was introduced as a new limited partner in the Milwaukee Bucks ownership group in April 2018, he attained this standing.

Along with numerous regional Wisconsin-based efforts, Rodgers has also been in several commercials throughout the years for companies including Pizza Hut and State Farm Insurance. Forbes cites Rodgers’ multimillion-dollar contract with State Farm as “one of the largest endorsement deals in the NFL” (estimated to be worth $2–3 million). He also has endorsement agreements with the following companies: Adidas, Prevea Healthcare, Bergstrom Automotive, Sharpie, and IZOD. He performed in a piece on the second season of the sketch comedy show “Key & Peele” alongside fellow Packers teammate Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and several other NFL players.

Personal Life

Rodgers resided in the Green Bay suburb of Suamico, Wisconsin, until 2017. He maintains a residence in Los Angeles, California, off-peak. He also has real estate in California’s Del Mar. From 2014 to 2017, he was romantically involved with actress Olivia Munn. From 2018 to July 2020, he was linked to NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.

Aaron’s shocking engagement announcement to Shailene Woodley at the beginning of 2021 shocked the entire world.

Contracts and Salaries

Rodgers signed a 5-year, $110 million contract extension with the Packers in 2013, making him the highest-paid athlete in NFL history.

To remain with the Packers, Rodgers agreed to a 4-year, $134 million contract in 2018. Once all the bonuses and guaranteed cash flow are taken into account, the contract will be worth about $180 million. Of the roughly $103 million of his agreement that was guaranteed, $80 million needed to be paid by March 2019. The Packers were required to pay Rodgers $400,000 a day from August 2018 through March 2019 in other words. Compared to this, Brett Favre’s career earnings totalled $135 million (on the field).

On March 8, 2022, Aaron and the Packers announced that the seasoned quarterback had agreed to a new, four-year, $200 million contract extension with the organisation, which features a guaranteed $153 million.

Career Earnings

Aaron Rodgers made a total of $263 million in NFL compensation alone through the 2021–2022 season, a time when many people believed he was retiring. His total NFL career earnings by the time he retires, if he fulfils the terms of the four-year contract he signed in March 2022, will be $463 million. Aaron will become the first NFL player to surpass the $400 million career earnings milestone thanks to the agreement (from salary alone).
