A child from Atlanta, “Trails Carolina”, who had strayed from a wilderness camp in the Nantahala national forest, died of hypothermia while immobilized due to a hip fracture.

Alec Sanford Lansing was camping with Trails Carolina, an outdoor rehabilitation program based in Lake Taxiway, around 2:30 p.M.

He was reported missing on November 10 at six o’clock. The delegates gave the police a description and last known location of Lansing and requested that they keep an eye on him.

A volunteer firefighter in the cashier reported seeing a man matching the teen’s description near a filling station on November 10. Officers could not view the video due to technical difficulties in the CCTV system of one of the stores.

The announcement said that Nantahala investigators, the sheriff’s examiner at the site where Lancing’s body was found, found evidence that it had been pulled from a tree hanging over a small river where Lansing was killed on “Saturday, November 22”.
