Alexis Bledel Dating Jared Padalecki

Alexis Bledel and Jared Padalecki’s on-screen relationship in “Gilmore Girls” is still probably the most well-known aspect of their acting careers, despite their success in other projects. Bledel is best known for her portrayal of Emily Malek in Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and Padalecki is known for his portrayal of Sam Winchester on the CW’s “Supernatural.”

Fans know that the show focuses on a fictional hamlet called Stars Hollow and examines the many inhabitants’ traits and motivations. Bledel played Rory Gilmore, Lorelai’s daughter and the show centers on their relationship as Rory navigates the ups and downs of adolescence, higher education, and adulthood. Meanwhile, Padalecki played Dean Forester, the show’s newcomer in the pilot.

In a short time, Rory and Dean became inseparable, and Dean became Rory’s first boyfriend. Their on-again, off-again relationship is explored across the original seven seasons and the new four-episode Netflix reboot. Fans of the show were used to seeing a tight friendship between Rory and Dean, but they may be curious about how the two interact in real life.

A Past Relationship Was Revealed Right Before the Netflix Revival Aired

Fans of Team Dean, rejoice: Jared Padalecki has confirmed that he dated Alexis Bledel for a short time. In 2016, Bledel’s off-screen romance with Padalecki was revealed for the first time when “Gilmore Girls” casting director Mara Casey joked to Life & Style about Bledel’s history of dating her co-stars on the show. Casey continued by saying that he had a gut feeling that Bledel and Padalecki would get along when they were casting the character of Dean.

Neither Bledel nor Padalecki spoke immediately after this was reported, but Padalecki later confirmed the claim to be accurate. He continued by saying that the couple’s dynamic was very typical for adolescents. It wasn’t anything major, he told Glamour in 2021. “What we saw was more comical than anything else, in my opinion. We were two 17-year-olds who said, “Hey, you want to go bowling?” Were it only outrageous or anything!”

Jared Padalecki Wasn’t the Only Co-star Alexis Bledel Dated

Even though things didn’t work out between Rory and Dean, the show’s viewers quickly warmed up to Rory’s other on-screen boyfriend, bad boy Jess Mariano. Fans were also treated to the joy of Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventimiglia’s real-life romance. They tried to keep their relationship under wraps when it first began, but Bledel later revealed that they had discussed marriage. ‘I think everybody who has been dating for more than a couple of years probably talks about it at some point,’ she told People in 2005. “It’s something fun to talk about, but that’s it; it’s in the future,” she said.

Bledel and Ventimiglia broke up after four years of dating after Ventimiglia’s representative told People that he was no longer in a relationship. Bledel married her “Mad Men” co-star, the actor Vincent Kartheiser. Ventimiglia has said that his attention is strictly on his job at the moment. The star of “This Is Us” told Haute Living in 2021, “Everything is second position to work – everything.” “Certainly, that has been a challenge in some of my friendships and relationships… Some things will inevitably have to be dropped while others will be able to function in parallel.”

Padalecki confirmed that he and Ventimiglia’s relationship with Bledel did not overlap, and it appears that the two boys remain on good terms despite the on-screen love triangle. On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in April of 2021, Ventimiglia flashed the phrase “I [heart] Dean 4ever” on a homemade sign. Padalecki posted an Instagram photo of his sign reading “I [heart] Jess 4ever” in response.
