Bam Margera Was “Basically Pronounced Dead” During COVID Hospitalization

Jackass alum Bam Margera was admitted to an intensive care unit in San Diego last month after he was diagnosed with a case of COVID-19, which was then worsened by pneumonia. He was placed on a ventilator during his stay there. He had to stay in the hospital for a total of eight days, but he was finally released in the middle of December.

This week, Margera discussed his encounter with a “gnarly” case of the virus on the latest episode of his former co-star Steve-Wild O’s Ride podcast. Margera called his bout with the virus “gnarly.” “I was virtually pronounced dead on December 8th, which was Elvis Presley’s birthday,” he revealed.

“Because my body was shutting down, I experienced four seizures, each of which lasted between ten and twenty minutes. When it came to the fourth one, I chewed my tongue so hard that it was almost severed from my mouth.”

Margera claims that his tongue became so large that it was impossible for him to fit it in his mouth anymore. “And I was drinking the contaminated blood, which gave me pneumonia as well,” he explained, recalling how he was transported to the hospital by a shaman and went into his fifth seizure there.

“And I was drinking the infected blood, which gave me pneumonia as well,” he added. Margera claims that he “blacked out” for the majority of his time spent in the hospital. He was under the impression that he had only been there for a couple of hours, but he awoke five days later.

He recalled that in order for him to breathe, a tube had to be inserted down his neck. “And, buddy, when they took out that tube, it felt like I was sucking on Darth Vader’s dick,” he said. You can take comfort in the fact that Margera will still maintain her sense of humor in spite of such a significant health concern. In addition, it was stated that Margera vanished the previous year from a rehabilitation facility in Florida, which he was reportedly required to attend by a judge.
