Bill Murray’s NY Home for Sale $2.07 Million

With connections to both Bill Murray and Uma Thurman, an 1868 Gothic revival mansion in Palisades, New York, has been put on the market for $2.075 million. The 3,100 square-foot house, also known as the Manse, is situated just a few streets from the Hudson River in the hamlet of Snedens Landing that is popular with celebrities.

According to Richard Ellis of Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty, the property was previously the parsonage of the church across the street, and Mr. Murray resided there while his own house in the neighborhood was being built, though it’s unclear exactly when that was.

The house was put up for sale on Monday and features a tub that was formerly a part of Ms. Thurman’s home. According to Sotheby’s, an interior designer who was working with the actress—who once resided in another Snedens Landing residence—removed the unnecessary tub from Ms. Thurman’s home and repurposed it at the Manse. It is now part of a bathroom in the corridor and was just reglazed.

According to Mr. Ellis, the mansion underwent extensive renovation in 2016 and blends contemporary conveniences with vintage features including original crown moldings, restored pine floors, panel doors, and three fireplaces, one of which has a Victorian mantle. The plumbing, electric, septic, air conditioning, and heating systems, as well as the generator, were all renovated.

Interestingly, the fireplace was boarded up when the previous owner was remodeling the house, he noted. On the mantel, genuine Victorian ceramic Minton tiles from the late 1800s were discovered during the thorough refurbishment procedure.

According to the Minton Archive, Mintons was a pottery studio in the U.K. that was regarded as one of Europe’s top ceramic companies throughout the Victorian era. The home has a wood-fired brick pizza oven that also serves as a fireplace, a butler’s pantry, a country kitchen with soapstone and marble counters, and a dining room that opens to the backyard.

According to the description, there are four bedrooms, an office, and a walk-out basement on the top levels. There is a carport and a fenced-in yard outside with old trees. The community is less than 30 minutes from New York City and has nearby amenities like the Hudson River, the Snedens Landing Association tennis court, the library, and parks.

According to PropertyShark data, the house last traded hands for $1.65 million in 2018. It was impossible to reach the seller for comment. A request for comment was not immediately answered by Mr. Murray’s representatives.
