Bobby Shmurda Early Life

Born in Miami, Florida, Ackquille Pollard, popularly known as Bobby Shmurda, grew up there. His father is from Jamaica, while his mother is African-American. His mother relocated from Florida to East Flatbush, New York, following his father’s incarceration.

Pollard experienced some legal issues while he was a resident of Brooklyn. He was once jailed for having a gun, but those charges were eventually dismissed. He also served fifteen months in a correctional institution for breaking the terms of his probation.

Police said in 2014 that Pollard was the head of a group known as “GS9.” This group peddled drugs in the region from Kings Highway to East Flatbush, participated in killings and stabbings, and frequently engaged in fights with rival gangs.

Bobby Shmurda Criminal Conviction

In 2014, rapper Bobby Shmurda found himself in significant legal difficulties. He was jailed after getting found with a gun on June 3. When the police arrived to inspect, they said he attempted to conceal it on a couch. He paid $10,000 and was let go.

December 17 was his next arrest. This time for having d*ugs and guns and being a member of a gang. Despite his claims of innocence, a $2 million bail was imposed for him. Because his gang was involved in killings and shootings, the authorities had been keeping a close eye on them.

Shmurda played a significant role in the gang known as GS9. They engaged in gang warfare and peddled dagga. For this, he might have spent eight to twenty-five years in prison. James Essig, the commander of the NYPD unit, claimed that Shmurda’s videos and music demonstrated the activities of his gang.

He discussed selling drugs since he was a young boy and the violent acts of his group in the song “Hot Nigga.” Despite his statements in interviews that the lyrics were based on his real life, a judge ruled that song lyrics cannot be introduced into evidence unless they are directly connected to a criminal offence.

Shmurda got into a brawl in jail that might have started as a gang fight. He was apprehended attempting to enter the jail with his ex-girlfriend. They faced charges of possessing a weapon and bringing in prohibited things, which could result in an additional seven years to his sentence.

Shmurda appeared in court on both the new and old counts. Shmurda still faced up to 25 years in prison for the d*ug and g*n accusations, despite his and his ex-girlfriend’s denials of guilt about the new ones. View the tweet to learn more:
