Early Life

Bow Wow was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 9, 1987, and his real name is Shad Gregory Moss. By the time he was six, he was writing his raps under the name “Kid Gangsta.” Moss was influenced by groups like N.W.A. when he was young. Bow Wow got the chance to perform on stage in Los Angeles during this time. Snoop Dogg was there that day to watch, and he was impressed by how good the young rapper was. After the concert, Moss and Snoop Dogg talked, and Snoop Dogg called Moss “Lil’ Bow Wow.” The name has stayed.

Before he had even released his first album, Snoop Dogg invited Lil’ Bow Wow to appear on one of the tracks. Late in 1993, the album “Doggystyle” was published. Lil’ Bow Wow made his professional music debut on the song “Gz and Hustlas,” which featured him. Later that year, he appeared on “The Arsenio Hall Show” and became more widely known as a result of it.

Before Jermaine Dupri took an interest in the 11-year-development, old’s he had to wait for five years. Lil’ Bow Wow released his debut album as a 13-year-old in 2000 after writing a song for the soundtrack of “Wild Wild West” in 1999. Songs like “Bounce With Me” and “Bow Wow” appeared on the album “Beware of the Dog.” On the latter track, which went to number one on the rap charts, Snoop Dogg made an appearance, continuing the friendship between the two rappers. When Lil’ Bow Wow released his debut album, it sold more than 2 million copies in just one year. The album went on to sell over 3 million copies and was certified platinum.

When Lil’ Bow Wow released his second album, “Doggy Bag,” in 2002, he changed his name to “Bow Wow.” According to Bow Wow, the “Lil” prefix was overused among rappers, and he also felt like he was aging as a result of the shift. For the second time, “Doggy Bag” achieved platinum certification, reaching at No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200. “Take Ya Home” was one of the album’s more popular tracks. “Basketball,” which appeared on the “Like Mike” soundtrack, was another significant song by Bow Wow in 2002.

Bow Wow collaborated with artists like Birdman, Mario, and Amerie on his 2003 album “Unleashed.” It garnered mixed reviews, but it topped the Billboard 200 and sold 129,000 sales in its first week. In 2005, Bow Wow released “Wanted,” which featured several guest appearances by artists such as Omarion. After a strong first week, “Wanted” entered the Billboard Top 200 at No. 3 and sold 120,000 sales. Later that year, Chris Brown and T-Pain appeared in the film, titled “The Price of Fame,” which came out in 2006. In its first week, this album sold 262,000 copies and debuted at number six on the Billboard 200.

A year after collaborating with Omarion on a joint album in 2007, Bow Wow released his follow-up, “New Jack City II” Parental guidance was included for the first time on one of Bow Wow’s albums because the album discussed drugs. The next year, he secured a record deal with Cash Money Records. Bow Wow’s musical career came to an end after this incident, at least in terms of his public image. His next album would be repeatedly delayed, even after being featured on several other artists’ tracks and releasing several mixtapes in the following years. Shad Moss, Bow Wow’s birth name, would resurface as his rap stage name. Cash Money Records would also be his last stop, as he would never release an album there.

Rapper P. Diddy signed him to Bad Boy Records after he stated his intention to retire from the genre following the release of his final album. Fans were pissed off that the record hadn’t been published by the time 2019 rolled around. Shad Moss and Soulja Boy did, however, work together on a 2016 mixtape.

Acting/Hosting Career

Bow Wow’s decision to stop making music was partly motivated by the fact that his acting and hosting careers were growing more prominent. He has been acting since the beginning of his music career, starting with a role in 2002’s “Like Mike,” when he made his acting debut. His role in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” was one of his most famous. Smallville and Entourage are among the many TV series in which he has appeared.

Bow Wow has had a long and successful career as a TV host and celebrity. Bow Wow took up the role of host of BET’s “106 and Park” in 2013. In 2014, it was deemed unnecessary and scrapped. The Australian show “RnB Friday Nights” was hosted by Bow Wow in 2016.

After refuting the notion for several months, Bow Wow finally admitted that he and his ex-girlfriend had a child, a boy named Shai, in 2011. Bow Wow revealed to the judge in an October 2012 child support lawsuit that he only made $4,000 a month and had $1,500 in his checking account at the time. A total of $11,500 in past child support was eventually imposed on him, along with a monthly payment of $3,000 from that point forward.

Bow Wow owed the Internal Revenue Service almost $90,000 a year earlier, according to a report by TMZ. A $200,000 Bentley and a $220,000 Ferrari have also reportedly been taken from Bow Wow in the last few years, TMZ reports. Additionally, according to TMZ, Bow Wow has an outstanding debt of $280,000 to a luxury car leasing firm.
