Dear Sir/Madame, The Ton is growing impatient for a new season of Bridgerton to premiere on our televisions, as we haven’t heard anything about the high society family’s activities in months. However, this author can confirm that things are humming across the pond, as the Season 3 cast and crew are hard at work on set in London right now.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait much longer for the new season to be released. However, details regarding the second installment of the hot romance series are already beginning to leak. We can’t help but absorb all the newest gossip, much like the Ton’s Whistledown readers.
The Ton is in turmoil (or at least a friendship within it) at the end of Season 2, with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and her best friend Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) leaving off on a less than happy note, with Eloise piecing the puzzle together in the final moments of the season to discover that the person behind the gossip column about her family’s scandals is none other than Penelope. To add to the stress, Eloise’s developing relationship with Theo has been shattered, as has Penelope’s crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
We did, however, witness a happy marriage between Viscount Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and the beautiful, independent Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), who achieved their happily ever after despite a turbulent relationship and many squabbles. Ashley said that this love tale will continue in Season 3.
“There was a lot of push and pull between Kate and Anthony in Season 2, there were issues with the family, and then they find each other towards the end,” Ashley explained to Deadline. “I believe everything is just getting started. I’d like to see Kate relax a little more and play a little more in Season 3 so that we may all swim in that circle of love together. “I believe they both deserve it.”

Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan Netflix Breaking News
Simone Ashley just stated to Vogue that we will see more of Kate and Anthony’s friendship on-screen in Season 3. And, in contrast to the weight of their story last season, the tone this season is “sweet, adorable, and light,” she says.
It appears that we will see a new side of Kate as she adjusts to her new role as Viscountess. “Even though she appears harsh on the outside, folks like that are sometimes the softest on the inside,” Ashley explained. “It’s because they’re vulnerable that they acquire that skin.” You can see her doubts and concerns.”
In addition, Netflix revealed the newest Ton member who will appear in Season 3. According to Deadline, Hannah New will play Lady Tilley Arnold, a young “firebrand” widow who relishes being the executor of her late husband’s estate and the financial, social, and sexual independence that entails.
Bridgerton Season 3 Plot
The first two seasons of the series corresponded with the timeframe of Julia Quinn’s books, but Netflix has announced that, while they intend to develop each of the books into the show, Season 3 will be out of sequence.
Season 3 will skip the third book, An Offer From a Gentleman, which follows Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) love journey, and instead focus on book 4, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, which follows Penelope and Colin’s plot. The following is the official synopsis provided by Netflix:
“From Shondaland and new showrunner Jess Brownell, Bridgerton returns for its third season, with Penelope Featherington finally giving up on her long-held obsession with Colin Bridgerton after hearing his nasty remarks about her last season.”

She has, however, decided that it is time to find a husband, preferably one who will give her enough independence to allow her to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. Penelope’s attempts at the marriage mart, however, failed badly due to her lack of confidence.
“In the meantime, Colin has returned from his summer vacation with a new style and a real sense of swagger.” But he’s disappointed to learn that Penelope, the one person who has always appreciated him for who he is, is turning her back on him.
Colin promises to train Penelope in the arts of confidence in order to help her find a husband this season, eager to reclaim her friendship. But when his lessons begin to work a bit too well, Colin must decide whether his feelings for Penelope are genuine. Penelope’s schism with Eloise, who has found a new companion in an odd place, complicates matters, while Penelope’s growing influence in the tonne makes it all the more difficult to maintain her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”
Release Date For Bridgerton Season 3
Season 3’s release date has yet to be announced by Netflix. Except for the fact that they were released two years apart, there isn’t much to draw on from previous seasons. Season 1 debuted on Christmas Day 2020, with Season 2 following on March 25, 2022. Season 3 is now under development and is expected to wrap in December 2022, giving us hope for a 2023 release.
Casting For Bridgerton Season 3
Penelope Featherington will undoubtedly be reprised by Nicola Coughlan, as will her love interest Colin, ex-BFF Eloise, and other Bridgerton family members. However, Francesca’s character has been recast. Hannah Dodd will take over as the Bridgerton sister after Ruby Stokes leaves to play in Netflix’s Lockwood & Co.
Daniel Francis (Stay Close) has joined the cast as Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown) as Lord Debling, and James Phoon (Wreck) as Harry Dankworth. Hannah New, who will play the young widow Lady Tilley Arnold, is the most recent addition to the group.
We know what you’re thinking, but Regé-Jean Page, who played the smoldering Duke of Hastings in Season 1, will not be reprising his role in Season 3. Despite erroneous rumors of a reappearance, it appears that the star who captivated everyone’s hearts in Season 1 will remain a one-and-done figure in the Bridgerton series.

On September 24, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, and Luke Newton visited Netflix’s TUDUM to tease what’s to come in Season 3 while creating some “Bridgerton Sibling Portraits.” Newton explained why it took Colin so long to realize he and Penelope belonged together, while Claudia stated that Eloise is still irritated that Penelope lied to her about Whistledown for so long.
Coughlan, on the other hand, had the juiciest item to disclose when she read a sample of the first Lady Whistledown column from the Season 3 premiere, titled “Out of the Shadows.” There are a few “dazzling” candidates for a diamond of the season, but based on what Coughlan stated, we won’t be paying too much attention to any of them. Netflix has released some behind-the-scenes footage from the production, which began in the summer of 2022. The clips feature some of our favorite Ton members getting set to film Season. 3.
