Cobra Kai Season 5 Release Date
Netflix has confirmed that the fifth season of Cobra Kai will premiere on September 9, 2022. Normally, the show’s episodes are released between December and January. The entire season is planned to be released all at once. Seasons aren’t being separated as on Stranger Things.
Cobra Kai Season 5 Plot
We’ll see what happens in season 5 as a result of Cobra Kai’s paradigm shift in Season 4. Cobra Kai beat out Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang (or Miyagi-Fang) at the All Valley competition, but their combined efforts fell short of beating them. Terry Silver has promised to open new dojos around the Valley in the wake of the victory, making it even more difficult to fight back against the Cobra Kais next season.
It’s going to be a fight, too. Daniel LaRusso still intends to bring down Cobra Kai despite his agreement to stop teaching karate if Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang fails to win the competition. He’s enlisted the aid of Chozen this time around. Considering that Chozen gave Daniel a hidden (and highly successful) Miyagi-Do method the last time they met, we may expect the erstwhile enemy to have even more tricks up his sleeve for the new season. It’s also safe to assume that, as hinted at in the trailer, the alliance will pose a severe threat to Silver and the Cobra Kais.
One of our favorite characters in the franchise, co-creator Jon Hurwitz told GamesRadar+, “Chozen is back in this game.” “It was great to see Yuji [Okumoto] back with Ralph [Macchio] in season 3; the karate and comedy scenes they shared were some of our favorites. That dynamic and what he contributes is something we enjoy.
Beyond that, he’s dealing with his issues and struggles. What better time to join the fight in the Valley than while Terry Silver is on top? Because Terry Silver is, as we all know, a strong foe… Bringing in Chozen, who has a reputation of fighting to the death and bravery and appears to be more competent and a bigger danger than Daniel, at this time, it felt like it was fantastic for season 5 to have Chozen and Silver as opposing forces.”
For the time being, John Kreese is out of the picture. At the season’s conclusion, Silver organized the arrest of his old friend Kreese by accusing Kreese of beating Stingray to a pulp. It’s unclear how the season will go for Kreese now that he appears to be in prison. However, he has already proven to be extremely difficult to beat, so don’t write him out just yet. It will be interesting to see how he responds to Silver’s betrayal and Silver’s threat to his former top pupil Johnny Lawrence.
Meanwhile, Johnny has been tracking down Miguel’s whereabouts. Both characters will end up in Mexico, where Miguel has been searching for his father. Johnny’s son, Robby Keene, appears to be a potential stumbling block to reconciling with Miguel. But things aren’t going smoothly for Robby and Miguel as they travel to Mexico with Johnny, even if it could bring the three of them closer to ultimately wiping away the bad blood between them.

Students of Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra Kai have less certainty about their futures. No doubt the Miyagi-Do youngsters will continue their karate training at Daniel’s dojo, as Daniel has no intention of closing it. Cobra Kai is also growing, however, season 5 appears to be losing some students. When All Valley champ Tory Nichols overheard a conversation that indicated Cobra Kai had manipulated the competition in their favor, she might be headed toward defecting from the dojo as well – especially as she and Amanda LaRusso grew to bond throughout the season.
Due to Johnny’s commitments in Mexico, Eagle Fang will likely continue his training at Miyagi-Do. It remains to be seen if any of the students respect the agreement with Cobra Kai and discontinue their karate training completely.
Season 5 will be action-packed, that much is certain. “Season 5 was just completed. Because of this, the season five finale is, I hesitate to say, “larger,” but there is a lot more action in it “Hayden Schlossberg, a co-creator of the game, told GamesRadar+.
“Because of this, it has become such. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll be able to continue the series beyond season five, as we didn’t intend for it to finish there “He goes on. “Another is on the way. We still have some of our most powerful fireworks and cannons. If anything, we’ve got a few big, epic surprises in store for you!
On the other hand, it does become a question of, “Okay, how do you top it next year?” For as long as it comes from a character’s perspective, it’s going to be interesting to the viewers, and we don’t want it to turn into just a show. As a result, achieving this objective is the primary objective.”
There may be some cameos from the larger Karate Kid universe after all if you keep an eye out for them. When asked if fans may expect any familiar faces, Hurwitz said, “There will be a lot of karate,” according to Deadline (opens in new tab).

If Paul Walter Hauser returns as Stingray after his surprising appearance in season 4, we’ll have to wait and see.

They’re coming off a controversial win for Tory and Cobra Kai at the 51st All Valley Karate Championships when Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang came within a point of a tie.
With Terry Silver’s ambition to franchise the dojo, you can see it all in the trailer. It’s Daniel LaRusso’s turn to fight back, and he’s enlisted the support of his former adversary Chozen.
The fifth season of Cobra Kai isn’t simply about karate in Los Angeles. After season four, we saw Johnny and his son Robby travel to the southern United States in search of Miguel, who had run away from home in search of his father.
Is Cobra Kai season 5 the final season?
No official word on a sixth season has been given as of yet, but the show’s creators have made it plain that more is on the way.
At times, “it’s changed,” Heald told Collider, “but it also hasn’t” (opens in new tab). “Still, we have a game plan in place towards the conclusion. The fifth season isn’t over yet! The addition of new characters and storylines has been entertaining, but it’s also been nice to let them take the lead from time to time.”
Hurwitz replied: “We never stated how many seasons we would have from the beginning. At least six landings were always in our heads, but we’re still trying to figure out precisely how long that landing should be for all the reasons Josh highlighted.”
Schlossberg said in an interview with Deadline that the series might go on past a possible sixth edition. As he put it, “We’ve got a goal in mind.”. “Exactly how many seasons it will take us to get there, we don’t know at this time. We’re having so much fun making it.” If we get tired of it, we’ll stop sooner rather than later; we’ve already planned out a few more seasons.”
