Daisy Edgar-Jones is currently the woman of the moment. Her name is back on everyone’s lips after the release of her latest film, Where the Crawdads Sing. After falling in love with her in the adaptation of Sally Rooney’s best-selling book, Normal People, and her major part in the horror-comedy film, Fresh, our romance with the young actress has officially been revived. Not to mention her appearance on the cover of Marie Claire’s August 2022 issue, where she discusses adjusting to life on the big screen. As with any it-girl, the topic of their dating life soon comes up.
Is She Happy Alone Or In A Relationship? And Who Has Before Stolen Her Heart?
Jones has only had one known relationship in her public life, Tom Carey. The couple met in 2018 while co-starring in the short series Pond Life, a four-part period drama set in the 1960s. While Varey’s character fell in love with someone else onscreen, there was an evident spark between him and Jones offscreen, and the two began dating soon after.
Jones told Elizabeth Day on the How To Fail podcast in 2020 about Varey viewing her sex scenes in Normal People, which she found hilarious. “Actually, my boyfriend was great because what a tough thing to see,” she explained. “He likes the series, which makes me very happy, but there was a moment in episode six when he was like, ‘This is a bit weird!'” Oh, this is strange! ‘And we all had to admit that it was a little strange, and then everything was good!’ ”
Jones then revealed Varey’s romantic gesture that melted her heart while filming Normal People and living in a Dublin flat in an interview with Harpers Bazaar UK. “When I went out for a costume fitting, he got me a bag of frozen food from Tesco,” she recounted.

“He loaded the fridge with potato waffles and fish fingers, which may not seem romantic, but that’s what I survived on for the entire four and a half months of filming.” I thought of him every time I ate a potato waffle, so sure, that – and other stuff. That was extremely pleasant.”
The duo lived together in London during the 2020 blackout but chose to split up after two years because of their busy schedules. “They got on incredibly well during lockdown last year,” an insider told The Sun, adding that “Daisy has been overwhelmed with chances and thinks she needs to put them first, Tom’s also really dedicated to his acting and wants the best for all of them.”
Daisy Edgar-2022 Jones’s Boyfriend?
The actress looks to be single at the moment, most likely due to her incredibly busy schedule with filming, photoshoots, and everything in between. That being said, given her secretive personality, it’s not out of the question that she’s secretly dating someone.
She was rumored to be dating both of her male co-stars, Paul Mescal and Sebastian Stan (at different periods, of course), but these claims were untrue, despite the fact that she shared incredible onscreen chemistry with both of them and remains good friends with them after filming.
Jones forms a triumvirate with Mescal and his rumored fiancée, Phoebe Bridgers, and is one of her closest pals. The happy three attended the 2022 Met Gala together and have been photographed together on other occasions. Our only request is that we be allowed to join this buddy club. Whatever her relationship status is, we’ll hold off on conjecture until she makes an official announcement.
