During the early hours of Thursday morning, law enforcement in Frederick engaged a man in a gun battle, which ultimately resulted in the guy’s death. According to a news release issued by the Frederick Police Department, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers from the department responded to a complaint of shots fired in the 200 block of 7th Street.
According to the release, when responding cops and a citizen arrived on the scene, they were immediately met by gunshots from a nearby property. On the site, multiple law enforcement organizations arrived, including the Firestone Police Department, the Mead Police Department, and the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers opened fire during the incident, striking an adult male subject who was later pronounced deceased at the scene of the event, according to the police. Nobody in the police force or the general public was hurt in this incident.
The Critical Incident Response Team for the 19th Judicial District is in charge of heading the investigation into the shooting by police officers. After the suspect’s family has been contacted, the Weld County Coroner’s Office will be able to positively identify the individual.
