Former Pence Adviser Says She Will Be ‘In Jail’
Olivia Troye, who used to be Vice President Mike Pence’s homeland security adviser, said on Sunday that she would be “in jail” if she took classified papers from the White House like former President Donald Trump.
On August 8, FBI agents went to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. They were looking for paperwork that was allegedly stored in the wrong way. They took 20 boxes that were said to have classified papers in them. Experts had warned that these boxes were vulnerable to international espionage. Trump and his allies, on the other hand, have said that the search is based on politics.
Troy, who left the White House in 2020 and has been a vocal critic of Trump and the direction of the Republican Party since then, said on CNN that if she had taken papers from the White House, she would have faced harsh punishment.
She said, “I might be in jail.” “To be honest, I might have to answer questions later. Even if you found classified information outside of where it was supposed to be kept, you had to report it. You had to bring it in and self-report. So seriously, do we take this?”
On Saturday, former President Donald Trump spoke at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Olivia Troye, who used to work as a homeland security adviser for former Vice President Mike Pence, said that if she took papers from the White House like Trump, she would be “in jail.”
Troye also said that when she worked at the White House, she “saw people get kicked out of the Pentagon for a lot less.” Her comments came after President Trump talked about the search at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night. It was his first rally since the FBI raid.
“The FBI and the Justice Department have turned into vicious monsters run by radical left-wing lawyers and the media,” Trump said. “You people there tell them what to do and when to do it.”
The Department of Justice (DOJ) released a list on Friday of what FBI agents found inside Mar-a-Lago. According to the Related Press, they also found dozens of empty folders marked as classified and more than 10,000 other government documents that didn’t have a classification mark.
The stock, however, didn’t say what kind of documents were in each category. Expert Glenn Kirschner questioned on Friday if Trump might have bought the missing papers, saying that he should be arrested if he did.

Troye Defends Biden’s Speech
In a speech in Philadelphia on Thursday about the “battle for the soul of the nation,” President Joe Biden aimed at Trump and his supporters. During his angry speech, he criticized the Republican Social Gather for what he sees as anti-Democratic behaviour. He blamed them for trying to hurt the fairness of the 2020 presidential election, against abortion rights, and for trying to “take this country backwards.” Many people in the GOP have said that the speech was wrong, and Biden is being accused of being biased and causing division.
During an MSNBC appearance on Saturday, Troye said that the part of the Republican Party that supports Trump is “harmful.” She also defended Biden’s speech against the MAGA law.
“Many agree with you. “There are a lot of Republican voters who aren’t the right-wing nutjobs who are taking over the party, which I would say is bad for the party,” Troye said. “That has nothing to do with us in any way. And I think they’ll keep losing as long as they keep doing that.”
