The winners of the second and final round of the 2023 GLAAD Media Awards were revealed on Saturday in New York City, with Netflix’s “Heartstopper” winning Outstanding Kids and Family Programming (Live-Action) and “Fire Island” and “Anything’s Possible” tying for Outstanding Film – Streaming/TV.
A Strange Loop won for Outstanding Broadway Production, and The Problem With Jon Stewart won for Outstanding Variety or Talk Show Episode. “We’re Here” from HBO won Best Reality Series. Maren Morris, who received the Excellence in Media Award, attacked Tucker Carlson in her acceptance speech for making fun of the singer-songwriter for speaking out against transphobia.
“Maybe I felt a little badass taking Tucker Carlson’s calling me a lunatic for standing up to transphobia [and] turning it into a t-shirt and raising $150,000 for LGBTQ+ charities,” the woman added. “That gave me a small sense of cool, but I don’t want to brag. I never disrespect those who have recently lost their jobs.
