Since the release of his critically acclaimed directorial debut, 2005’s Brick, writer/director Rian Johnson, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have worked together frequently on projects. In 2012, the two collaborated once more for the time-travel thriller Looper, in which Gordon-Levitt portrayed an assassin who might commit suicide. The friendly duo collaborated on the actor’s ill-fated TV series HitRECord. JGL does, however, occasionally make sneaky cameos in Johnson’s other films, which you might have missed.

The beginning of Joseph Gordon-involvement Levitt’s with Rian Johnson films. Johnson directed the action comedy The Brothers Bloom three years after Brick. The major actors were Rachel Weisz, Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo, and Rinko Kikuchi, however, Brick’s leading man can be seen in an early party scene. JGL delivers this morbid passage of conversation in a Law and Order parody manner. “Funnily enough, and people may or may not know this, I’ve actually managed to cameo in every single one of Rian Johnson’s films, from Brick to The Brothers Bloom and even Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” Gordon-Levitt admitted to Us Weekly in 2021.
