‘Harlem’ Star Meagan Good and Husband DeVon Franklin to Divorce After 9 Years of Marriage

Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin have decided to divorce and have filed for it. PEOPLE has the exclusive confirmation that the pair has divorced after being married for nine years. Good and Franklin, who first became acquainted while shooting the film Jumping the Broom in 2011, announced their engagement in May 2012 and wed a month later in June 2012.

Good, who is 40 years old, and Franklin, who is 43 years old, offer their thoughts in a joint statement by saying, “After much prayer and meditation, we have decided to walk into our futures independently but forever united.”

“Together, we are celebrating almost ten years of marriage as well as a love that will last forever. There is no one to blame, and we both feel as though this is the best possible next step in the development of our love “They have not stopped.

“The years that we have spent together as husband and wife have unquestionably been some of the most formative and meaningful of our lives. We are also incredibly grateful to God for the witness that is being formed within the both of us and for the blessing that is each other’s presence in our life “The two complement one another.

Good and Franklin marked the ninth year of their marriage by posting anniversary tributes to one another on the internet, six months before they announced their intention to split up publicly. The event is titled All the Celebrity Couples Who’ve Called It Quits in 2021. In the Beverly Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, on April 16th, 2019. On June 16th, Good posted a nearly four-minute highlight clip of their relationship on Instagram for the world to see.

Happy anniversary to the man who is the love of my life, the man who is my purpose partner! the famous resident of Harlem penned it. “That brings us to point #9, and into eternity you go! You are the best choice I’ve ever had to make in my life (besides loving Jesus lol). I give my entire being to the love that I have for you. Both in this life and the one that follows it.”

At the time, Franklin, who was a preacher and the author of Live Free: Exceed Your Highest Expectations, sent a message to Good that he posted on Instagram alongside a photo of the two of them. “I love you my love. Best wishes on your 9th anniversary! “…as he explained further.

Fans will remember that Good and Franklin routinely documented their relationship for their audience, going so far as to write the best-selling book The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love together.

They revealed intimate details about their courting and principles in the book that they published in 2015, including the fact that delaying sexual activity until after they were married was one of the pillars of their relationship at the time.
