Sandra Redknapp, Jamie Redknapp’s mother, has spoken up for the first time about a terrible miscarriage. The former hairdresser, 74, who has been married to football great Harry for 54 years, became pregnant in February 1969 but miscarried at 12 weeks.
In their joint autobiography, they detail their heartbreak. Sandra bravely informed Harry how she had been working at the salon and couldn’t get transport home to Barking in the dead of winter. Sandra recalls losing feeling in her hands and feet as she walked home in the thick snow and realized she had had a miscarriage.

“It was amazing for me because they both liked sport, they loved football, and as kids, they were respectful and courteous,” Harry said of their family. Sandra admitted that if she could have assured having a girl, she would have had a third. The couple has eight grandkids. We already have too many boys in the family!”
