In Houston, Texas on March 5, 1963, he was given the name Joel Scott Osteen. John Osteen and Dolores Pilgrim have six children, and he is one of them. For 17 years, he produced his father’s TV sermons for Lakewood’s television program, which he founded. His father, John, died of a heart attack in January of that year.
