Kanye West has hired Melinda Gates’ old attorney Robert Stephan Cohen, who has extensive expertise representing millionaires in divorces. On Wednesday, a representative for the senior partner at Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich LLP revealed to Page Six that West just hired him as counsel for his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
West, 45, has engaged attorney Nicholas A. Salick in California, where the case is being litigated because Cohen is headquartered in New York. Cohen, 83, spoke about his procedure for dealing with celebrity divorces in a 2021 Insider piece, which included pulling financial papers, checking the details of his client’s assets, and conducting a 90-minute initial discussion about “the psychology of how to deal with the divorce.”
