The three recently revealed Star Wars movies are “quite well along” in the creative process, according to Kathleen Kennedy, CEO of Lucasfilm. In a conversation with IGN at Star Wars Celebration, Kennedy made it plain that the next movies from Dave Filoni, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and James Mangold are not merely concepts being discussed at Lucasfilm but have already been in development for a while.
Kennedy responded, “We’ve come a long way. “These are things that, as you can think given what Dave has been doing with Ahsoka, will take at least six to seven years to develop into what we’re going to be doing in the movie. “Regarding Charmaine, we have already been working on that for a few years. There was a lot of discussion regarding the nature of Jim’s plot because Jim and I had the pleasure of working on Indiana Jones together.
“The beautiful thing about Jim is that he can move things forward quite quickly because, like David, he is also a writer and director. Well, things are sort of proceeding. We might be in a really good position where we can take our time deciding when to manufacture these things because they are all ready to go.”

When Daisy Ridley announced her return to the galaxy far, far away at Star Wars Celebration, we are already aware of at least one casting. Ridley will reprise her role as Rey Skywalker in a movie that takes place 15 years after Rise of the Skywalker and follows the character as she works to revive the Jedi Order.
Although there has been no official announcement on Filoni’s film, he and Jon Favreau seem to have hinted that it will serve as a conclusion to the tales presented in The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and the impending Ahsoka trilogy. Although Mangold’s is equally shrouded in secrecy, the writer and director revealed during Celebration that it would be set at the earliest moment in Star Wars history and concentrate on the development of the Force and the rise of the Jedi.

In addition to these three, Kennedy disclosed at Celebration that Taika Waititi’s Star Wars project is still in development and that he is “still working away” on the script. The Rian Johnson trilogy, on the other hand, cannot be claimed to be in the same situation because it is not currently under development.
Before Celebration, Disney trimmed its list of forthcoming releases and shelved the movies starring Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins. Yet, Kennedy noted that the crew still frequently discusses the possibility that Rogue Squadron had been fully scrapped.
