Kung Fu Season 3 Story

Kung Fu is a cutting-edge reworking of the 1972 series with a similar name which had David Carradine in the number one spot role. The show follows Nicky Shen, a Chinese-American lady who returns to San Francisco three years after she walked out of home and joined a reclusive religious group in China. Observing her former neighborhood swamped with misbehavior and debasement, she utilizes her hand-to-hand fighting abilities to preserve her local area and family, while seeking the professional killer who killed her guide. The series is set in the present day and is on a young Chinese American woman who is forced to drop out of school to travel to a remote religious community in China for the first time.

Upon her return to the United States three years later, she begins using her Shaolin values and martial arts training to protect her old neighborhood in San Francisco from the growing wrongdoing and defilement, particularly that which is being undermined by the Triad. She also has to deal with her estranged family and find the assassin who killed her Shaolin coach.

Kung Fu Season 3 Characters

Olivia Liang plays Nicky Shen, the show’s protagonist. Shannon Dang plays Nicky’s sister Althea Shen, Eddie Liu plays Nicky’s love interest Henry Yan, Jon Prasida plays Nicky’s estranged brother Ryan Shen, and Gavin Stenhouse plays Nicky’s ex-boyfriend and Assistant District Attorney Evan Hartley. Tzi Ma, Kheng Hua Tan, Tony Chung, Vanessa Kai, and Yvonne Chapman balance the core cast. Olivia Liang as Nicky Shen, a Harvard dropout and an untouchable to her family who is a specialist in aggressive techniques, which she utilizes to address a burgeoning crime crisis that has overtaken her neighborhood. “Nicky’s stern mother,” played by Kheng Hua Tan, aided her better half in the café company and isn’t happy about Nicky leaving the family, which was a rationale for Nicky and Evan’s split.

Eddie Liu plays Henry Yan, a martial arts expert, an expert in traditional Chinese craftsmanship and folklore, and the object of Nicky’s devotion. Although she has had to deal with a tough background that includes sexual abuse by her prior management, Shannon Dang plays Althea Shen, Nicky’s amazing older sister who is a more established and well-versed technologist. Gavin Stenhouse plays Evan Hartley, a brilliant colleague and chief prosecutor who feels strongly about Nicky even though he has another sweetheart and Mei-displeasure Li with his previous relationship with Nicky. Vanessa Kai as Pei-Ling Zhang, Nicky’s shift (guide) at the Shaolin Monastery in Yunnan Province, China. She was killed by her sister Zhilan while attempting to shelter the cloister from her group of looters and turns up as a spirit to assist with directing Nicky.
