Lowa Osha Investigating After Contractor Dies in Accident at Adventureland. An investigation has been opened by the Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration following the death of a contractor at the Adventureland amusement park in Altoona.

Zachary Alesky, 20, was carrying a steel beam when he tripped on ice, which caused the beam to fall and crush his chest, according to a spokeswoman for his family. Zachary Alesky died as a result of his injuries.

According to relatives of Alesky’s family, he was brought back to life at the hospital, but he passed away later while undergoing surgery. Alesky was employed by SkyHigh Coasters, which had its headquarters in Illinois. At the Altoona Amusement Park, the company is now constructing the ride known as the Flying Viking. He was the proprietor’s son-in-law at the time.

The following statement was issued by Palace Entertainment, which is the owner of Adventureland: “We are grieved by this tragic tragedy that involved a contractor executing work at Adventureland Resort, and we express our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and coworkers,” said the company. “We are performing our utmost best to get back to normal as soon as possible.”

The Iowa Division of Labor has verified to KCCI that the Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration is conducting an investigation; however, the Division of Labor does not have any other information to provide because the investigation is still continuing.
