‘M3GAN’ Sequel Planning: Is Already in Development from Universal

It is safe to say that the new horror film M3GAN has “gone viral,” with the android villain already being regarded as one of the best antagonists of modern cinema, thanks to her delightfully evil attitude. In addition, the film has received a lot of positive feedback from critics.

The fact that Universal Pictures is already planning a sequel to the movie despite the fact that it has just been released demonstrates that the studio acknowledges the film’s financial success as well. According to a report by Deadline, “there are already preparations” for a sequel to the amusing horror comedy, in addition to a brutal unrated version of the movie that was just published and was directed by Gerard Johnstone.

Both versions of the film were released recently. A robotics engineer working for a toy manufacturer creates a lifelike doll with the help of Jenna Davis, Allison Williams, Kimberley Crossman, and Brian Jordan Alvarez. The new movie explores the narrative of how the doll quickly takes on a frightening life of its own due to the actions of the inventor.

At some point, an unrated version ought to be made available. I’ve been told that it’s in the records. But you’re right, it was a lot bloodier. According to screenwriter Akela Cooper’s further comments to the Los Angeles Times, “her body count in the script was higher than in the movie.”

In continuation, she continues by saying, “She did kill a bunch more people, including a handful of characters that James was like, ‘I like what you did with those guys, but I want them to live.'” I was heartless, but then again, that’s just how I am. My sense of humor is quite gloomy.

'M3GAN' Sequel Planning

M3GAN has become an unforeseen smash, having impressed fans as well as critics. This adds to the extraordinary filmography of James Wan, who gains scripting credit here and is known for being a pioneer in the horror genre.

The new triumph is also evidence of Akela Cooper’s continuous climb in the film industry. The screenwriter, who previously excelled with Malignant, will have the opportunity to demonstrate her worth once more when The Nun 2 is released in 2023.
