MacKenzie Scott Officially Divorced from Seattle Teacher Dan Jewett 4 Months After Billionaire Filed

According to PEOPLE’s findings, MacKenzie Scott and Dan Jewett, a school teacher in Seattle, have successfully completed their divorce. According to court documents acquired by PEOPLE, the 52-year-old woman and her now ex-husband Jeff Bezos completed the conditions of their separation on January 4. The founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, was her husband during their marriage.

TMZ was the first media outlet to break the news that the divorce was finally finalized. According to the documents obtained by PEOPLE, Scott and Jewett have signed a separation treaty, which addresses the distribution of property as well as obligations incurred during their marriage. There was no request made for spousal support.

According to a prior account from the Washington Post, Scott first encountered Jewett at the school where her children were enrolled. Late in September 2022, more than a year and a half after the pair had tied the knot in March 2021, the benefactor submitted a petition for divorce to her second husband.

After 25 years of marriage, Scott and her first spouse Bezos made the decision in 2019 to publicly announce that they were dissolving their union. In July of that same year, the couple’s divorce was finally formalized. During the time that she was married to Jewett, Scott continued to donate a significant portion of her wealth. In September of last year, she donated the $55 million Beverly Hills mansion that she owned to help the charitable California Community Foundation. In March of this year, she gave another $436 million to Habitat for Humanity.

In the year 2020, the philanthropist gave given $4.2 billion to organizations in the United States that helped with relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also provided $2.7 billion to 286 underfunded groups that fight against wealth disparity.
