Pay-per-view revenue was predicted to reach more than $180 million at the time. Floyd was to receive $25 million upfront and an additional $20-25 million in the future as part of the $180 million deal. Pacquiao and Mayweather couldn’t agree, so the fight was put on hold for years. On April 1, 2010, Floyd defeated “Sugar” Shane Mosley, and in 2011, he defeated Victor Ortiz. Floyd earned an estimated $50 million (32 million guaranteed) for beating Robert Guerrero on May 4th, 2013. When Floyd fights Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd, 2015, this record will be easily broken.

On May 2nd, 2015, Las Vegas hosted the long-anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight. The fight is expected to be the most lucrative in the history of boxing. All profits would be split 60-40 between Floyd and Manny. The fight brought in $250 million for Floyd. He made $150 million in his career.

Conor McGregor defeated Floyd Mayweather on August 26, 2017, in the highest-grossing Pay Per View boxing match ever. A minimum of 5 million PPV purchases were made during the event. Overall, the fight generated $700 million in revenue, with Mayweather walking away with $300 million in pre-tax earnings. No state income taxes were due on his earnings because he lived in Nevada. He paid the Internal Revenue Service about 40% of his earnings. As it turned out, he paid 40% of his earnings, as well as $22 million in back taxes that he owed for 2015. After taxes, he walked away with $160 million. Floyd’s final net worth was $560 million after the McGregor fight was added to his previous total.

He bought a Beverly Hills mansion for $25.5 million in 2017. At the time of closing, he also spent $500,000 on furniture for the property. There is a candy store, a 12-seat movie theatre, and a 300-bottle wine room in this house.

Besides the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, he also owns an apartment in New York City and a strip club called Girl Collection in Vegas.

Floyd paid $18 million in August 2021 for the following Palm Island waterfront mansion:

Car Collection

Countless high-end automobiles belong to Floyd. An ESPN interviewer once asked him about his collection of undriven luxury cars, and he said he had $15 million worth of them sitting in his garage. More than 100 cars have been purchased by Floyd from Towbin Motorcars in Las Vegas over the past two decades. He is said to use cash to buy his vehicles. There are five-million-dollar cars in his collection, including the $5 million Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita, the $3 million Bugatti Chiron, the $2 million Veyron Spyder, and the $2 million Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse. This is only a small portion of his extensive holdings. His collection includes many other luxury vehicles such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

Sixteen Rolls Royces are said to be owned by Floyd.

It was not uncommon for him to keep all of his automobiles in one mansion in white and all of them in the other mansion in black.

Private Jets

“Air Mayweather” is Floyd’s $60 million Gulfstream G650. As a birthday present himself in 2018, he purchased the jet. On a dare, he reportedly flew to Iceland to take a picture of the Eiffel Tower. The wingtips of the plane are inscribed with “50 – o,” his boxing record, and his name.

Two of Floyd’s private planes are his. Secondly, there’s a $30 million Gulfstream III at SFO. The G650, in which Floyd and his closest associates travel, is said to be accompanied by “Air Mayweather II” and the rest of his entourage.

With his main jet and seven cars on display in the background, Floyd posted a photo to his Instagram account in January 2015. He was surrounded by $60 million worth of “toys” in total.

Jewelry Collection

Floyd has shown no reluctance in displaying his extensive jewelry collection. More than 40 of the most expensive watches in the world are in his possession. 30 watches and $3 million worth of jewelry are always on his person when he goes on vacation according to him.

An incredible $18 million was spent on a single Jacob the Jeweler watch by Floyd in 2015. This timepiece is adorned with 239 baguette-cut emerald-cut diamonds weighing up to 3 carats each. “The Billionaire” is a fitting name for this timepiece.

Commercial Real Estate Investments

When Floyd invested in SL Green in 2014, he became one of the company’s largest shareholders. CEO Marc Holliday of SL Green first revealed Floyd’s investment in the company in December of that year. Floyd currently holds a minority stake in nine different skyscrapers across the United States, as of the time of this writing. One Vanderbilt, the tallest commercial building in the United States, is one of these skyscrapers.

Financial Problems?

Floyd has evaded allegations of financial difficulties for many years. Floyd was hit with a $22.2 million tax bill from the IRS in March 2017 for unpaid taxes from 2015. The IRS claimed he owed $22,238,255 in back taxes. Floyd also claimed he didn’t have enough cash on hand to pay off the loan. Floyd’s lawyer filed paperwork with the IRS a few months later stating that Floyd’s Conor McGregor fight earnings would be used to pay off the IRS’s debt. Floyd’s legal team responded to the IRS’s demand for immediate payment:

“Taxpayer’s resources are substantial but restricted and largely inaccessible. In about 60 days, the taxpayer plans to pay the remaining 2015 tax liability due and outstanding from a significant liquidity event.”

Floyd Mayweather’s former friend and now sworn enemy, 50 Cent, claimed on social media in February 2020 that Floyd was broke and would have to return to the ring to replenish his bank account soon. Floyd was quick on social media to refute these unsubstantiated claims. Nevertheless, Floyd’s lavish lifestyle requires a significant financial commitment. It’s hard to keep up with all the cars, houses, jets, and other accouterments. Even though he no longer has a steady income, he probably spends millions of dollars every year. It is not uncommon for him to wear a pair of shoes only once before discarding the rest. 20 people are accompanying him at all times, which includes friends and family members as well as bodyguards and a barber (even though his head has been shaved). Jewels valued at $7 million were stolen from his home once by burglars…

We haven’t even discussed Floyd’s gambling habits yet. Floyd’s sports gambling winnings and losses are a mystery. When it comes to sporting events, he often flaunts his enormous bets.

Other Controversies

When Floyd was arrested for domestic violence in 2002, he was also charged with a misdemeanor battery charge. For this offense, he was given a six-month sentence with credit for time served and community service. After being convicted of two misdemeanor battery counts in 2004, he received a one-year suspended sentence. After kicking a bouncer in 2005, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge. He was given a suspended sentence of 90 days. Floyd was sentenced to 90 days in county jail in 2011 for the battery.

In addition, he was required to complete 100 hours of community service and enroll in a 12-month domestic violence treatment course. He was imprisoned for a total of 63 days before being released. He petitioned for medical release while serving his sentence, saying that the 800-calorie daily prison food menu was causing him to lose muscle. He asserted that he required between 3,000 and 4,000 calories per day to maintain his weight. The judge refused to comply with the court’s request. A private jet carrying $1 million in cash was waiting for Floyd after his release.
