Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney File for Divorce; Will They Reunite?

It appears that Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney have put their plans to divorce on hold, at least for the time being. New legal documents obtained by TMZ reveal that the couple has decided to put their divorce procedures on hold for at least six months as they try to get back together. Branch announced their separation on August 11 and filed for divorce a few days later. Carney was 42 years old at the time. On August 11, Branch was taken into custody on suspicion of assault in the home; however, the accusations against him were dropped after a few weeks.

In accordance with the terms of the settlement for their divorce, Branch and Carney will make a final decision about their marriage’s dissolution after at least six months has elapsed. According to the documents, the couple can resume living together while they attend sessions of marital treatment. Branch explained their split by pointing to “irreconcilable disagreements” as the reason for their decision.

On August 11, Branch confirmed to TMZ that she and Carney had ended their relationship. She issued a statement saying, “To say that I am completely crushed is not even close to explaining how I feel for myself and my family.” “Everything has been yanked out from under me, and now I have to find out how to go,” I beg that you respect my need for privacy because my children are still tiny.

After accusing that Carney had cheated on her on August 25, Branch issued a statement, which she later revised and removed. Branch was detained at the couple’s home in Nashville, Tennessee, hours before the announcement was made public, on suspicion of having been involved in a domestic altercation. Branch has allegedly admitted that he struck Carney throughout the investigation. Because she is now breastfeeding their 6-month-old daughter, Willie Jacquet, she was taken into custody but later freed after posting a bond of $1,000. On August 24, TMZ claimed that prosecutors in Nashville had opted against continuing their investigation into the case.

Branch and Carney first crossed paths in 2015, and two years after their introduction, the “All You Wanted” singer made a move into Carney’s house in Nashville. Their children, a son and a daughter were born in 2018: Rhys James in August and Willie in February. They tied the knot in April 2019. Branch’s ex-spouse was Teddy Landau, and the couple has a daughter named Owen Isabelle, who is now 17 years old. This new album by Branch, titled The Trouble With Fever, will be published by Republic Records this coming Friday (the label where she previously released All Your Fears). This week, she started a tour to promote the record she had just released.

It is common knowledge that Branch disagreed with Carney; nevertheless, she has steadfastly refused to address the incident. On the occasion of the 21st anniversary of her album The Spirit Room, which occurred on August 14, she stated that she was now legally entitled to drink and listen to it. This was the only time she got near to expressing her feelings on the subject. Branch, who uploaded vintage images of herself alongside the note, said, “Oh man… I could tell this girl so much.” Department was referring to the recipient of the message. “I can’t believe how much support I’ve gotten from everyone.”
