The incredible strength of Philadelphia Eagles Jordan Davis is on display as he annihilates Jason Kelce.

During a recent practice, Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis demonstrated that his bulk comes with a lot of strength.

Jordan Davis, who is only 22 years old, enters the NFL with the physique of a player who has been around for a while. He will be a lot of trouble for opposing offensive lines this year and in the future at 6’6″ and 340 pounds.

He contributed to a dominant defence at the University of Georgia that some argue is the best in the history of college football, recording a total of 90 tackles, 11.5 of which were for loss and sacks. He would be a valuable player for just about any team that wanted him.

Although it is becoming increasingly clear that he belongs in the NFL, it was the Philadelphia Eagles that took a chance on him by selecting him with the 13th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

One reason is that, even though his stature sounds remarkable, it isn’t apparent until you compare him to other defensive linemen, as this image of 6’4″, 310-pound Fletcher Cox—who will be on the line alongside Davis—depicts.

While a player’s stature is crucial, how they use it is equally important. This past weekend, during an open training session at Lincoln Financial Field for Eagles fans, he demonstrated how he should be using his stature.

Asserting his dominance

Davis was involved in a drill that featured him rushing Eagles centre Jason Kelce after the snap, and Rich Bussey, an Eagles fan, caught it on camera. But Davis went far further than simply rushing Kelce; he also pushed him back with such force that the veteran couldn’t even get his feet properly.

Even though Kelce, at just 6’3 and 295 pounds, is far smaller than Davis, the entire league has to witness and be strongly cautioned about how easily a seasoned centre like Kelce can be pushed back, even if it’s just during practice.

This week marks the start of the preseason and considering his inexperience, you would expect to see him get a lot of playing time as the Eagles assess his potential. It remains to be seen if he can execute these ridiculous manoeuvres against actual opponents as opposed to just practising them.
