Police: After an Altercation Ends in a Gunshot, a Woman is Dead, and a Man is Critically Injured

Following a dispute with her husband on Sunday morning, a 44-year-old woman was shot and murdered, according to Gwinnett police. When police were called to the 2600 block of Ivy Stone Trail in Buford at around 10 a.m., they discovered Desiree Marin, 44, and her husband, Michael Marin, 44, both with gunshot wounds.

According to the authorities, Desiree Marin was carried to a hospital where she passed away, and Michael Marin is still in critical condition. For alerts when news is breaking, download the free WSB-TV News app. According to the police, an argument between the couple resulted in Michael Marin shooting Desiree Marin with a gun before shooting himself, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Several hours after the event, the Gwinnett County Police Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation arrived to conduct an investigation. Police said a toddler who was there at home during the event was not physically hurt.
