Police Are Calling the Discovery of Four University of Idaho Students Dead in a Residence Away from Campus a Homicide

Four University of Idaho students were discovered dead on Sunday at a house nearby, and authorities are now looking into a possible homicide, according to the university’s president. According to a news statement from the Moscow Police Department, the fatalities were discovered by officers who responded before noon to a report of an incapacitated person.

In a letter to the school community, university president Scott Green said, “It is with great regret that I share with you that the university was told today of the murder of four University of Idaho students residing off-campus presumed to be victims of homicide.”

The identities of the victims and the causes of death have not been disclosed by the police. According to tweets from the University of Virginia Police Department, there is a lockdown at the university as a result of shooting reports.

Police tweeted that Culbreth Road was the scene of the incident. The University of Virginia shooting left 3 people dead and 2 more injured as authorities sought a suspect. The startling discovery comes as the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, another US college campus, is in chaos as police search early Monday for a shooter suspected of killing three people and injuring two others on school property on Sunday. There is still a lockdown in place.
