Queendom is a South Korean variety television music competition that premiered on Mnet on August 29, 2019. The show has six Korean girl groups competing in the program for the chance to advance to the final round. Following the great popularity of Queendom, Mnet has also launched boy group spin-offs such as “Road to Kingdom” and “Kingdom: Legendary War,” which are both set in the same universe.
The show will return for a second season this summer, and fans will be pleased to see their favorite girl group act perform on the show once again. It was presented by Lee Da Hee and Jang Sung Kyu and featured five female groups: AOA, (G)I-DLE, Lovelyz, MAMAMOO, and OH MY GIRLS. Park Bom was also included in the season’s final episode.

Queendom Season 2 Story
Every stage of the show is devoted to the six-girl ensemble as they prepare for their performances. The audience serves as the judge, selecting their favourite performer by voting for them. In the previous season, six girl groups engaged in a hard competition to reach the top. They all released singles at the same time, and the audience selected which group would be on top by voting for their favourite track.
During the show, there were three preliminary performances and one live comeback stage, after which the spectators were asked to vote for their favourite performance, and the performance that received the most votes was proclaimed the show’s winner. The winning act is allowed to perform their new song among their prior hits. Last season, Mamamoo has crowned the winner, with the girl group Oh My Girl coming in second place. This means that, if the second season follows the same pattern as the first, we could see the six girl groups battling for number one on the charts once again.

The show’s goal is to determine who is truly at the top and to do so, six lady groups representing pop make their comebacks at the same time. Brave Girls (a four-member girl group that gained popularity online with their viral hit “Rollin”), VIVIZ (a three-member girl group), WJSN (12-member girl group), LOONA (12-member girl group), Kep1er (a newly debuted girl group formed from Mnet’s survival show Girls Planet 999), and soloist Hyolyn (a former member of girl group SISTAR) are among the contestants on the show.
