Sega Genesis Mini 2 Release Date, Price, and Preorder Details
Sega Genesis Mini 2 is out on Oct. 27. and Amazon is taking preorders for $102.38. Amazon Japan charges $22 to ship the listed items. This totals $125.
Amazon Japan is the only official preorder option for the Genesis Mini 2, however, a US listing may be added. If more options become available, we’ll update this post.
What’s Different About the Genesis Mini 2?
The Sega Genesis Mini 2 is a duplicate of the 1993 model, while the initial Genesis Mini was a 1988 model. The Genesis Mini 2 will come with a six-button gamepad, while the original had three.
The first Genesis Mini contained 42 games; the Genesis Mini 2 will feature 50. The updated Mini 2 will include saving states and widescreen support.

What Games Will Be Available on Sega Genesis Mini 2?
Sega hasn’t disclosed the full list of Genesis Mini 2 games, but a partial list is available on the console’s website. More titles will be unveiled in the weeks before release.
Expect many of the same games as the original Genesis Mini, plus titles from the Sega Genesis Classics Collection on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch Online provides more than 30 Sega Genesis titles with an $80 annual expansion pack.
