Six Homicides in California Have Been Linked to a Possible Serial Killer; An overview

California police say a serial killer is responsible for the shooting deaths of at least six men and the injury of a woman over more than a year. Ballistic evidence has connected the killings.

Last week, authorities revealed that five men had been killed in Stockton in recent months; all of them had been ambushed and shot while walking home alone at night. Late on Monday, police said that a man’s death in Oakland and a woman’s nonfatal gunshot in Stockton were also connected to the slayings.

Officer Joseph Silva of the Stockton Police Department remarked, “It fulfills the description of a serial murderer.” The gunman is “simply searching for an opportunity,” and our victims were “alone in a dark location,” thus this case is unique.

The police did not comment on whether or not they had determined that all seven shootings used the same pistol.

As far as anybody can tell, none of the males who were killed in Stockton between July 8 and September 27 had been robbed or assaulted before their deaths, and the victims did not appear to know one other, according to Silva. Both gang activity and drug use appear unrelated to the shootings.

On the morning of April 16, 2021, at 3:20 a.m., police reported another Stockton incident in which a 46-year-old lady was shot but survived. This occurred during the woman’s solitary state.

A 40-year-old man was shot and killed in Oakland, and authorities believe that his murder is related to the unrest in Stockton. On April 10, 2021, at around 4:15 a.m., the guy was fatally shot. It was initially unclear whether or not the individual was alone at the time of his death.

A total of $95,000 was given by the city of Stockton, Stockton Crime Stoppers, and the owner of a local construction firm for information leading to an arrest in the murders.

In the wake of three homicides in Stockton, police published a blurry still photograph of a “person of interest” seen in surveillance recordings at the sites.

On Monday, the San Joaquin County Office of the Medical Examiner released the names of the Stockton victims: Paul Yaw, 35, killed on July 8; Salvador Debudey Jr., 43, killed on August 11; Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 21, killed on August 30; Juan Cruz, 52, killed on September 21; and Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54.

On September 27 at around 2:00 a.m., Lopez was shot in a residential area to the north of downtown.

According to Jerry Lopez, his brother, he “was just a person that was out here in the wrong location, at the wrong time, under the wrong scenario.” This was reported by KXTV-TV. It’s tough to take this in.

More than one person may be responsible for the violence.

Simply put, “we don’t know,” as Silva put it. The individual or persons responsible for this are brave.

Four of the five homicide victims in Stockton, a city of 320,000 located approximately 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of the state capital, Sacramento, were reportedly strolling alone, while the fifth was in a parked automobile.
