Sons Of the Forest Release Date: Everything We Know So Far

Each son of the Forest release date has been pushed back, bringing the game’s total delay to nearly a year. Every time we go close to it, it manages to wiggle away and avoid our grasp, as if it is in its own horrific survival mode. However, as we get closer to the current release date, it appears to have stuck, and we could still be able to catch the anticipated sequel to the acclaimed The Forest.

Aside from the Sons of the Forest release date, Endnight Games is keeping information about the survival game surprisingly close to its chest, and communications have been few and far between. Apart from a few eerie teaser videos, we’ve been kept in the dark about what gamers can anticipate from what is expected to be one of the best horror games of the year, if not one of the top PC games of 2023. The Steam page for Sons of the Forest is equally sparse, although it promises crafting, co-op, and, yeah, cannibals.

Sons Of The Forest Release Date

The Sons of the Forest will be released on February 23, 2023. While there is no guarantee that this will not change again, Endnight Games’ original announcement stated that this would be the “final time” the date will be pushed back. Now that we’re just a few weeks away from the intended release date, it appears the developer may be keeping his word.

The Gameplay Of Sons Of The Forest

Unlike in The Forest, where you are the sole survivor of a plane crash, you have decided to enter the cannibal-ridden world of Sons in quest of a lost billionaire. We’re not sure why you aren’t just leaving him there to exemplify the term “Eat the Rich,” but perhaps you need to collect your own paycheck or something.

While the reasons behind your search for this billionaire will be revealed when the horror game is released, we have a pretty decent idea of what will happen after you arrive on the isolated island. You’ll be left alone or with others to explore, craft, survive, and hunt in order to stay alive and fend off cannibalistic dangers to your life. Sons of the Forest is an open-world survival horror game that allows you to take your quest as you see fit.

Not only will you have to fight mutated monsters, but you’ll also have to face mother nature since all four seasons are depicted in Sons of the Forest (I’d give up looking for this guy). The spring and summer months may be easier to live with new animals to hunt in the water and forest, but the brutal cold of winter may prove more difficult, so be prepared.

Sons of the Forest will support co-op play, allowing you to team up with a friend if you’re struggling to live on your own. Sons of the Forest, on the other hand, will not support cross-platform play because, unlike The Forest, Sons of the Forest will only be available on Windows PC. It is unknown whether the horror sequel will be available for PlayStation consoles in the future.
