Earlier today, four students were shot at a Los Angeles middle school, and the defendant, a 12-year-old Teen in Custody After Shooting Two 12-Year-Olds.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said that a 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and is in critical but stable condition, and a 15-year-old female was wounded in the wrist and is in fair condition. The other two kids were treated for scrapes and bruises and sent home.
The child, 15, is being treated at LAC+USC Medical Center, where his doctor has expressed confidence in a full recovery.
The Los Angeles Police Department informed ABC News that they believe the gunshot was unintentional. Los Angeles County Jail received the unidentified suspect. They were held without bail at the County Central Juvenile Hall on charges of careless weapon discharge.
According to the LAPD, the Salvador B. Castro Middle School has been deemed secure after a weapon was located, and no suspects are at large.
A mother claimed the shooting occurred outside her son’s classroom, according to KABC-TV in Los Angeles, which is part of the ABC network.
When she called him, he “was in tears, but I’m so grateful he picked up the phone,” she added.
Mr. Diego Salinas stated that he hurried to the middle school when his sister contacted him from there.
