Hasan Minhaj is a popular American comedian, writer, and producer. From 2014 to 2018, Minhaj rose to fame as a senior correspondent on The Daily Show. Hasan’s first comedy special, Homecoming King, premiered on Netflix on March 23, 2017. In August 2018, Hasan quit The Daily Show to host the show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj.
Minhaj rose to prominence as a comedian and political commentator in a remarkably short period of time. Beena Minhaj, his wife, has been by his side every step of the way. She has been a continual source of love and support for Hasan, even making personal sacrifices in his support.
Beena works in the medical field. Beena Minhaj had academic promise at a young age and was quite active in classroom activities. Beena was fluent in Hindi, Spanish, Gujarati, and English by the time she started high school.
After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the University of California to study Neurology, Physiology, and Behavior. ” She is still an active researcher, and her work is dedicated to the heroes of our country who are homeless, in an effort to give them a voice.” Beena worked with the homeless in Los Angeles before moving to New York with Hasan. She is currently employed with MedAmerica as a management consultant. Beena and Hasan did not live together till they married.
Beena and Hasan met during their undergraduate years. When Hasan met Beena, he sensed a connection, and happily, she felt the same. The pair dated for several years before marrying in early January 2015. On January 6, 2015, Hasan announced his marriage with a beautiful Instagram snapshot of the couple.
Beena and Hasan’s lives were drastically altered by their marriage. The pair married about the time they relocated to New York. They had to swiftly adjust to the difficulties of living in New York. Hasan had to acclimate to the weather, while Beena had to work in a different location. Due to financial restrictions, she converted their apartment’s walk-in closet into her workplace.
On April 23, 2018, Hasan announced the birth of their daughter. He captioned an Instagram photo of the child’s foot, “Welcome to the world, baby daughter.” I’ll be with you every step of the way, God willing…”The couple has kept the child’s identity hidden, and she is rarely seen in public.
Beena said that she was done having children after giving birth to the couple’s kid. Hasan announced the birth of the couple’s second child on Instagram on March 20, 2020. He added in the caption that Beena had no plans to enlarge the family, but he was leaving his options open. He stated:
“There are so many beautiful moments even in these tumultuous times.” Little guy, welcome to the world. The Minhaj family expands, and according to Beena, it has reached its limit. But you never know with shooters.” Hasan’s son arrived just as hospitals were dealing with an influx of coronavirus cases. According to Hasan, the event was intense but unique.
“Delivery is already one of the most humbling experiences you can have as a human being because you feel so much, but you also feel completely powerless, especially as a father. We were extremely grateful that the delivery went smoothly and that the baby was healthy. It was a truly moving experience that I will never forget.”
Before the couple welcomed their second child, Hasan gave Beena a beautiful ring. Hasan revealed to Jimmy Fallon in September 2021 that he and Beena were having difficulty conceiving their second child. After months of trying, they saw a specialist, who discovered that Hasan had a disease that prevented sperm development.
“You have too much blood down there, and it’s reducing your sperm count,” the doctor said to Hasan. Hasan would be unable to have children without surgery. The outpatient surgery treatment was successful, and the couple became pregnant within six weeks.
Hasan gave Beena a yellow gold ring to commemorate their relationship before she gave birth. The ring was designed by Zameer Kassam and includes depictions of the couple’s love journey. Kassam framed the ring’s motif with 15 diamonds, representing the couple’s 15-year relationship. The ring also included references to the couple’s alma mater, UC Davis. It focuses on the institution’s fountain, where Hasan first spotted Beena, and Thoreau Hall, where they officially began dating.
