Uncharted 5 is one of gaming’s most enigmatic and elusive games. There was a sense that the Uncharted series had come to an end after four mainline games and one critically acclaimed spin-off. Even after the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, rumors of a sequel have persisted. And this brings up a slew of new issues. What subject would it cover? What is the name of the protagonist? Is it going to be out soon?
Because of this, it is understandable that fans are eager for answers. There has been no official announcement from Naughty Dog about the game. It’s possible, however, given some of the information that’s been leaked, that it will be released at some point. Now that we know there will be an Uncharted game on the PS5, here’s what we know so far:

When Did Uncharted Come Out?
In 2007, the PlayStation 3 game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune launched the Uncharted series. Launched in North America on November 19th, 2007, and in Europe one week later on December 7th, 2007. One of the most highly anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives at the time, the first Uncharted received a lot of press and industry attention upon its release.
Uncharted Games in Order
Between 2007 and 2016, four main Uncharted games were released. There is a separate standalone expansion for Uncharted 4 called Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The following is a list of the Uncharted games that have been released so far:
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune – 2007
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – 2009
- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – 2011
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – 2016
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – 2017
Naughty Dog Next Game
As of 2016, there are four main Uncharted games. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a standalone expansion for Uncharted 4. A list of all the Uncharted games to date:
Will There Be Another Uncharted Game?
What matters is whether or not there will be a fifth Uncharted. Even though it hasn’t been confirmed, it’s safe to assume the answer is “yes.” How can we be sure? In April, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that Sony Bend (the team behind 2019’s Days Gone) was working under Naughty Dog’s supervision on a new Uncharted game. There are rumors that the members of Sony Bend’s team didn’t like how things were set up and left the project to work on something else.

Since then, little is known about the new Uncharted. Sony Bend, on the other hand, appears to have started the project and then abandoned it fairly quickly. So, either Sony and Naughty Dog are looking for a new team to work on it, or they’ve already found a new team and development has already begun.
Is Uncharted Playstation Exclusive?
For the most part, to be precise. The main Uncharted games were exclusively available on the PlayStation platform. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, on the other hand, was made available for both Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 5 platforms.
PlayStation 5 Uncharted
Will Uncharted 5 be on PS5? Because it won’t be released on PS4 for years, you can expect it to be on PS5. Perhaps Sony is trying to make it as accessible as possible for everyone. Because of this, a PS4 version would be a must. However, porting the game to the PlayStation 4 would have a significant impact on the technological possibilities. As a result, given the anticipated release window, a PS5-only version appears to be a more logical choice.
Nathan Drake PS5
What’s Uncharted 5 about and who will the main character be? Is Nathan Drake coming to the PlayStation 5? Many players are going to be baffled by the game’s plot, given the lack of information we have at this time. In Uncharted 4, the series seemed to be coming to an end. There’s no point in asking what Uncharted 5 will be about if we don’t know who the protagonist will be. This could be the end of Nathan Drake’s story. Drake’s future in Uncharted 4 was left somewhat open, but he had a family and appeared to have finally settled down. As a result, having him come out of retirement to continue his adventures would take away from the satisfying conclusion.
Of course, his daughter could be the focus. This is an intriguing, if cliched, alternative. Chloe Frazer is probably the most likely character to appear in a future installment. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy’s Chloe is one of the series’ most popular characters, and she was excellent as the protagonist in 2017. It’s possible that Chloe could star in a full-length game, even though that game was much smaller than its predecessors. To put it another way, we’re rooting for Chloe to take on Drake’s mantle.
Uncharted 4 Release Date
Consider the release date of the last major installment in the series before discussing a possible fifth installment. On May 10th, 2016, Naughty Dog published Uncharted 4. It’s been six years! Isn’t it about time we got another Uncharted game? Fortunately, Naughty Dog has had plenty of time to work on the next game while we’ve been patient.
How many chapters in Uncharted 4?
There’s a chance that Uncharted 4’s story and gameplay mechanics will influence the upcoming fifth game in the series. How many chapters did Uncharted 4 have? The prologue and epilogue rounded out the book’s 22 chapters. The number of chapters in Uncharted 5 is likely to be the same.
How Many Uncharted Games Are There for Ps4?
For the PlayStation 4, there were two new Uncharted games: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy. If you count Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which included remasters of the first three games in the series, there are now three.
Uncharted 5 Release Date
To answer that, let’s move on to the next important question. When can we expect Uncharted 5? We’re not sure, unfortunately. Even though the game is almost certainly in development, no specific date has been set for its release. The process of making a video game is a lengthy one. Sony Bend could begin manufacturing in late 2020, and we could still be 3 or 4 years away from seeing it for the first time by then. There’s no doubt that any new Uncharted game will be larger and more technically advanced than Uncharted 4. As a result, don’t expect it any time soon, but it could be the most impressive one to date when it does arrive.
