Venom 3 Release Date

Venom 3 Release Date

The news that Venom (Tom Hardy), the local anti-hero of San Francisco, will be making a reappearance in Venom 3, along with some very big alterations to the popular series, will excite fans who have been craving more of the character. You will need to wait a little while, though.

One of the most well-known characters from Marvel Comics is Eddie Brock, who transitions from a terrifying opponent of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to a Lethal Protector who instills dread in the hearts of even the most dangerous of criminals.

It’s understandable why comic book fans have been waiting so long to see Venom on the big screen thanks to its iconic appearance, compelling characterization, and unexpectedly devastating sense of comedy.

Many people probably recall that Venom made his big-screen debut in the last movie of director Sam Raimi’s trilogy, Spider-Man 3. However, the movie’s production was not without controversy around the legendary antagonist.

Even while there are fans of Spider-Man 3’s portrayal of the character, many others were hoping for a legitimate Venom movie, which we finally received with Venom (2018). We say “sort of” because Venom’s background and character revolve around his being the total opposite of Spider-Man, but the new movie chooses to set Venom in a different reality where he and Peter Parker never cross paths.

Although this initially caused some trepidation, even ardent Venom fans concur that the movie is entertaining enough, thanks to Tom Hardy’s outstanding charisma as the lead character. With the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), which brought the hugely popular Carnage (Woody Harrelson) into Sony’s villainverse, the enthusiasm only grew.

Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting Venom’s next move since he was introduced to the MCU in the last credits scene of Let There Be Carnage and then nearly instantly returned to his own realm in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

They won’t have to wait much longer, as a new script, director, and writer are now working on Venom 3. Here is all we currently know about Venom 3, including details about the film’s director, cast, and production status.

When and Where Is Venom 3 Coming Out?

Venom 3 Release Date

Sony has officially announced that on July 12, 2024, Venom 3 will make its theatrical debut. A theatrical run was almost a given, as the two prior films did exceptionally well at the box office. With an astounding $850 million in box office receipts internationally, the first movie is among the top 25 highest-grossing comic book movies ever created.

During its theatrical run, Venom: Let There Be Carnage did not disappoint either, earning a solid $500 million on a $100 million budget. Though the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have affected the production, Venom 3 is coming sooner than anticipated in October 2024.

According to Sony, which indicates that they are confident in their ability to deliver the movie (more on that later). After the theatrical run ends, a streaming release of Venom 3 is also rather likely. Like with their other Spider-Man spin-off, Morbius.

Sony has historically collaborated with Netflix to offer a number of their high-profile releases on streaming services. But now, a groundbreaking collaboration between Disney+ and Sony has changed the game by adding some of their most popular Spider-Man movies to the streaming service.

Disney+ currently offers Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Spider-Man: Homecoming for fans of the superhero. Since Venom is currently accessible for streaming on Disney+ as of May 12, it’s probable that Venom 3 will follow Venom out of theaters and find a home there as well.

Is There a Trailer for Venom 3?

We don’t currently have a trailer for Venom 3 to show you because there isn’t any video available. Here’s a Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer, though, that will appease even the most evil webslingers:

Who’s In the Venom 3 Cast?

Tom Hardy will portray Eddie Brock and Venom as usual. It is obvious that the Oscar-nominated actor adores and has a strong bond with the lead character. This time around, he’ll have an even bigger say in Venom’s creative direction.

Hardy will have a leading role that is not yet known, alongside Ted Lasso actor Juno Temple. The presence of other characters like Michelle Williams’s character, Eddie Brock’s ex-girlfriend Anne Weying, or Stephen Graham’s enigmatic detective Patrick Mulligan in the follow-up is yet unknown.

A glimpse into the past of comic books: In the comics, Pat Mulligan, the grandchild of Carnage and Venom, is the first host of the Toxin symbiote and attempts to be a hero. Sadly, Blackheart, the evil Ghost Rider, killed Pat by beating him to death.

After stealing the symbiote, Eddie’s symbiote eventually bonded with Eddie while he was apart from Venom. With a history in the MCU as the villain Karl Mordo from Doctor Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor is another intriguing addition to the ensemble of Venom 3.

Ejifor’s character is currently under wraps, so it’s unclear if he will be playing a new character or returning to his MCU role.

Who’s Making Venom 3?

This time, Andy Serkis and Rueben Fleischer will direct Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, respectively, with Kelly Marcel, who authored both Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, serving as director.

The series actor Tom Hardy will co-write the screenplay for the movie, which Marcel will also write. Along with Matt Tolmach, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, and Avi Arad, Hardy and Marcel will produce the project.

What’s the Venom Story So Far?

We can briefly review Eddie Brock and Venom’s adventure thus far, even though the plot of Venom 3 is yet unknown. A number of enigmatic extraterrestrial species crash-land on Earth in the first movie. Billionaire Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed), who thinks the aliens may be the key to the next phase of human evolution, acquires the organisms, known as symbiotes.

Investigative writer Eddie Brock becomes interested in Drake because of his notorious business tactics, but when the arrogant journalist pokes his nose into Drake’s affairs, Eddie loses both his job and his fiancée. See the Tweet for more details:

Eddie receives a call from Dr. Dora Skirth (Jenny Slate) a few months later, informing him of the existence of Symbiotes within Drake’s facility. Eddie forms a link with Venom, the symbiote, in this way.

The two are able to thwart Drake and the demonic Symbiote Riot’s diabolical intentions for global dominance, even though the kind-hearted Eddie finds the alien’s obsession with devouring people annoying.
