Walid Shoebat: Early Life, Career& More!

Walid Shoebat

Walid Shoebat

A Palestinian American speaker, author, and critic of Islam, Walid Shoebat was born in the United States. Shoebat is a self-proclaimed expert on the dangers of Islam and is also a strong supporter of the State of Israel.  Shoebat has also claimed that he firebombed the Israeli bank Bank Leumi however, after thoroughly investigating this claim, reporters, and officials have found no evidence of a firebombing.

Walid Shoebat Early life

Shoebat was the grandson of the Mukhtar of Beit Sahour, who Shoebat characterizes as an associate of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammad Amin al-Husayni, according to the biography that can be found on his official website. Shoebat was born in Bethlehem, as the biography on his website states.

Shoebat claims that he was a young man when he joined the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and he also claims that he participated in an attack against an Israeli financial institution. When journalists looked into Shoebat’s assertions, they did not find any evidence to support them.

Shoebat claims that after he was released from prison, he continued his anti-Israeli activism until he moved to the United States, where he joined the Arab Student Organization at Loop College in Chicago. Shortly after that, Shoebat worked as a software engineer and became a citizen of the United States. The year 1993, according to Shoebat, was the year he became a Christian.

Walid Shoebat Career

Shoebat was denied entry to Canada on two separate occasions in 2004 and 2006 on the basis of security concerns related to his self-described involvement with the Palestinian Liberation Organization. Shoebat was supposed to give a talk in Ottawa at an event that was being put on by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, but Zachariah Anani ended up giving the talk instead.

Throughout the 2000s, Showboat was a frequent, albeit contentious, public speaker on the topics of terrorism and Islam. Shoebat has been featured as a terrorism expert on a number of television programs, including appearances in 2006 and 2007 on CNN and its sister network, HLN.

CNN, on the other hand, draws attention to the fact that Shoebat’s presentation contains mistakes, including the allegation that the Transportation Security Administration could have averted the attacks of September 11, despite the fact that the TSA did not come into existence until after the attacks.
