Wayne Season 2: Latest Entertainment Updates!

Today we talk about Wayne Season 2. YouTube Premium’s original content plan to compete with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu was short-lived, but it produced a few blockbusters, including Cobra Kai, which Netflix bought, and Wayne, a pitch-black action comedy about a vigilante teen. Shawn Simmons’ show about a teenage lad (Mark McKenna) driving cross-country from Brockton, Massachusetts to Florida to find his late father’s stolen Pontiac Trans-Am garnered tens of millions of YouTube views and critical acclaim.

Wayne, a cult favorite, was hit by the streaming wars when YouTube slashed back on original programming just months after it premiered. The show wasn’t eliminated from Season 2, as initially thought. YouTube didn’t cancel the show. Rhett Reese tweeted in 2019: “Wayne wasn’t canceled.

Its network was canceled.” Instead of conceding, the series moved to Amazon Prime in November 2020. With the show now “sponsored by Amazon Prime,” viewers may finally see a second season. Wayne Season 2’s status is as follows.

Wayne Season 2

Wayne’s Amazon transfer doesn’t guarantee a second season. It’s not confirmed yet, but it’s possible. Since former YouTube original Cobra Kai was renewed by Netflix, Amazon may greenlight further episodes about Wayne, his daring lover Del (Ciara Bravo), and their hunt for justice.

The series’ actors and crew want it. Showrunner Shawn Simmons and stars Mark McKenna and Ciara Bravo encouraged followers on social media to watch the show on Amazon, saying the streamer might bring it back. If Amazon has told them the show’s popularity on the platform could lead to a Season 2, it appears like they’re considering it.

After its debut, things seemed to be improving. Wayne co-writer Rhett Reese told Complex in December 2020 that Amazon gave the team “positive feedback,” so it’s possible. However, the show has been on the site for a minute without any updates.

IMDb says the show ended in 2019. However, there has been no formal cancellation notification, so it may not be the end. Amazon may be studying viewing statistics. The series dropped during the epidemic when most of Hollywood was shut down and Amazon Studios had to put several productions on hold or prioritize, thus a renewal might be affected by those conditions yet still happen. Keep channeling Wayne and threatening everyone you know to watch it. Just kidding—gentle recommendations are fine.

Wayne Season 2: When?

Wayne’s return is unknown without a renewal. Showrunner Shawn Simmons told Screenrant that he’s already written the Season 2 premiere and has the full season sketched out, so if Amazon renews the dark comedy, the crew shouldn’t require much time to finish the script before shooting.

The show’s stars’ activities are also important. According to IMDb, Mark McKenna is filming the Peacock teen drama One of Us Is Lying, where he plays a key role. In late 2021, the actor will travel with his excellent, 1975-inspired band milk.

Dean Winters, who plays Ciara Bravo’s father, stars in Peacock’s Tiger King-inspired Joe Exotic, which just started pre-production. If the cast can’t film until early 2022, we won’t be returning to Brockton anytime soon. If it gets another season, Wayne won’t return until late 2022. For fans who watched Wayne when it originally hit YouTube in early 2019, that’s a long wait, but if it works out, it’ll be as satisfying as one of Wayne’s manic revenge.

Wayne Season 2: Who Returns?

Mark McKenna, who plays Wayne, the nunchuck-wielding, motorbike-riding bad kid with a heart of gold, should lead round 2. Since he’s fascinated with Del, the Bonnie to his Clyde—despite being followed by her father and goon-like siblings across state lines—Ciara Bravo, who plays the spunky girl, should return.

Since Wayne hasn’t killed anyone, most of the characters should return. Del’s father, played by Dean Winters, and her brothers Carl and Teddy (twins Jon and Jamie Champagne), Principal Cole (Mike O’Malley) and Orlando (Joshua J. Williams), as well as Officer Jay (James Earl) and Sgt. Stephen Geller will return (Stephen Kearin).

Since Wayne’s been captured and sent back to Brockton, it’s uncertain if we’ll see more of his Ocala foes like Reggie (Francesco Antonio), Calvin (Kirk Ward), or even his mother (Michaela Watkins). If Wayne didn’t get to take the automobile north, there’s definitely more fighting over it.

Wayne Season 2’s Theme?

The season finale of Wayne hit viewers hard after seeing so much violence in the first season. Del’s family and the authorities caught up with the anti-hero after he defeated Reggie and got his dad’s car back. Shawn Simmons told Inverse that Wayne will start Season 2 in juvie once the cops haul him back to Brockton.

“The whole season’s about Wayne wanting to go straight, earn back Del, and find the peace he deserves,” he stated. Does it mean he might escape jail for her? We believe him! If he’s cleaning up to impress Del’s father, that may not be the case. In the Season 1 conclusion, he held her nameplate, suggesting he’ll do anything to obtain her.

Simmons told Inverse we’ll see more of her father, so Wayne will have to win him over or Del will run away again next season. Mark McKenna told Screenrant that he wants Wayne to “feel something that isn’t rage” in the new episodes, so returning to Del may satisfy that. Simmons told Screenrant that he knows where the action comedy will go, which sounds even bigger and better than the first. We’ll update this site as we learn more about Wayne, but we hope to see that shortly.
