Does the 2021-22 NBA Season Always Consist of 82 Games
Since its inception in 1946, the NBA has typically played 82 games every season. For the first ten years of the NBA’s existence, only 8 to 17 teams were in the league, yet the company accepted many games ranging from 60 to 72.
The first 80-game season was played in 1962 when only nine teams were in the league. An average season would feature eight to ten meetings between two groups.
