The American League beat the National League 3-2 in the 2022 All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, their ninth straight victory.

Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins then hit a solo home run to give the Twins a 2-1 lead. A native of Los Angeles, Stanton received the nod from his city.
NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton was in the All-Star Game for the sixth time in his career, and his first since 2017. After Derek Jeter in 2000 and Mariano Rivera in 2013, he has become the third Yankees player to win the All-Star Game MVP award.

A two-run lead in the first inning was quickly erased by the NL, which didn’t get another hit until the eighth. There were eight hits for the American League, but they never threatened to score more than one run until the fourth inning’s fireworks.
