The American League beat the National League 3-2 in the 2022 All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, their ninth straight victory.
In the fourth inning, New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer to give the Yankees a chance to win the game. Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins then hit a solo home run to give the Twins a 2-1 lead. A native of Los Angeles, Stanton received the nod from his city.
NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton was in the All-Star Game for the sixth time in his career, and his first since 2017. After Derek Jeter in 2000 and Mariano Rivera in 2013, he has become the third Yankees player to win the All-Star Game MVP award.
The game on Tuesday was supposed to be an offensive display, but the pitching took center stage. Stanton’s performance on Tuesday continues a solid season in 2022. The 32-year-old now has a batting average of. There were 237 hits with 24 homers, 60 RBI, and an.835 OPS in 2013. He has been instrumental in New York’s rise to prominence.
The Yankees lead the AL East by 13 games with a 64-28 overall record. The New York Yankees have their sights set on the postseason as they want to reclaim the World Series for the first time since winning it in 2009.
The Yankees are in a good position to accomplish it, thanks in part to Stanton’s leadership.
