Dionne Warwick Husband: She Was Married to William Elliott

Marie Dionne Warwick is a singer, actress, and television host from the United States. Warwick is one of the 40 musicians who had the most hits in the United States between 1955 and 1999, according to Billboard’s Hot 100 pop singles list.

The Grammy winner, 82, is currently on her “One Last Time” tour, which includes stops in Hawaii and Vancouver. She has over 500,000 Twitter followers and has appeared as a guest on “Saturday Night Live.” She intends to retire and then relocate to Brazil.

Warwick’s next project has already begun filming. In the documentary “Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over,” which premieres on CNN on January 1 and will afterward be available on HBO Max, she discusses her life and 60-year singing career with celebrities such as Bill Clinton, Stevie Wonder, and Alicia Keys.

Dionne Warwick married actor and percussionist William David Elliott in 1966, but the couple divorced in May of the following year. They later reconciled and remarried in August 1967 in Milan, Italy. Warwick has stated in multiple interviews, “It was a matter of can’t do with, can’t do without, therefore I married him again.”

On January 18, 1969, Warwick gave birth to her first son, David Elliott, in East Orange, New Jersey. Damon Elliott, her second son, was born in 1973. Damon Elliott is a well-known music producer and singer who is 47 years old. Some of the renowned women he has worked with include Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Pink, and Britney Spears. Elliott has a solo CD called “Shadow of Reality.”

After they split up on May 30, 1975, Warwick filed for divorce in Los Angeles in December 1975. Warwick claimed that her success had harmed her marriage. “I was the primary breadwinner in the household, which is difficult for the masculine ego,” she explained. Elliott, Warwick’s husband, died on September 30, 1983. He was 49 years old at the time. “I married him, sought a divorce, and married again,” Dionne Warwick said of her marriage. I couldn’t live without it. It was straightforward.
