Dolphins 2022 Schedule: Ranking the Games by Degree of Difficulty!

We already knew who the Miami Dolphins’ opponents would be and where they would play, but now we know exactly when they will play them.

The Dolphins’ 2022 games are now ranked in order of difficulty, starting with the least tough (at this point) to the most difficult.

17 — vs. Houston, Week 12

Last year, the Dolphins beat the Texans at Hard Rock Stadium, despite Tyrod Taylor’s struggles due to an injury and the absence of Laremy Tunsil. Even so, Houston still appears to be a squad in a state of flux.

16 — at Chicago, Week 9

Despite the arrival of Matt Eberflus, the Bears have a lot of unanswered questions at quarterback, starting with Justin Fields, a second-year starter. And now that Khalil Mack is playing for the Chargers, the Dolphins don’t have to worry about him in this game.

15 — vs. N.y. Jets, Week 18

There is little doubt that the Jets will be much better in their second season under head coach Robert Saleh and with quarterback Zach Wilson, but it is tough to forecast how much of a leap they can make, and finishing at home is a major advantage for the Dolphins.

14 — vs. Minnesota, Week 6

The Vikings have shown to be a difficult club to predict in recent years, so their inclusion on this list may be premature. With Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook at the helm, the Minnesota offense is always a threat.

13 — at N.Y. Jets, Week 5

There was no way the Dolphins were going to lose either of their two meetings with the Jets last season, as previously stated.

12 — at Detroit, Week 8

Another team whose fortunes might improve in 2022 is the Lions. You’d expect a Dan Campbell-helmed club to play hard all year, and you can only imagine how pumped up his players will be for the showdown against the team that rejected him for the head coaching post in 2016. This game would be considerably more challenging if the Lions had a capable quarterback in place of Jared Goff.

11 — vs. New England, Week 1

Although the Dolphins had won three straight versus New England, the Patriots and Bill Belichick still have a certain allure, albeit not as strong as when Tom Brady was around. Furthermore, even though their quarterback was a rookie, this squad made the playoffs in 2021.

10 — vs. Pittsburgh, Week 7

Aside from the Brian Flores saga, the Steelers have been a great prime-time team for many years, and their defense is nearly always outstanding. Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky or rookie first-round pick Kenny Pickett are the only things keeping this game from being classified as more difficult.

9 — vs. Cleveland, Week 10

Deshaun Watson will make the Cleveland Browns one of the most exciting teams in the NFL this season, and we expect him to be back from suspension by Week 10.

8 — at New England, Week 17

At Gillette Stadium, the Dolphins will ring in the new year with a contest that might have significant playoff ramifications. When it comes to this time of year, the weather could be an additional element to consider.

7 — at San Francisco, Week 13

Mike McDaniel’s return to San Francisco against a 49ers team that has reached the NFC Championship Game in two of the last three years will be no easy job. The 49ers’ Trey Lance quarterback situation is a significant question mark, and that’s why we didn’t give this game a higher level.

6 — at L.A. Chargers, Week 14

Mack and J.C. Jackson were brought in by the Chargers in the summer after they squandered Justin Herbert’s outstanding 2021 season due to poor defensive play. It will be difficult for the Dolphin’s defense to confound and restrict the Charger’s offense again when the rivals meet in Miami in 2020.

5 — vs. Green Bay, Week 16

quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. Is there anything more we need to add? Green Bay has been the NFC’s No. 1 seed in the playoffs in each of the last two seasons.

4 — at Baltimore, Week 2

Xavien Howard’s defensive touchdown in the Thursday night game last November gave the Dolphins a convincing win against the Ravens, but Baltimore was hampered by significant injuries at running back and in the secondary at the time. Even more so, this is the Ravens’ home opener, and the Dolphins have lost both of their previous visits there by scores of 38-6 and 40-0.

3 — vs. Buffalo, Week 3

When it comes to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, there’s no need for us to remind Dolphins supporters that they’ve lost seven straight, most of them by significant margins. Buffalo is unquestionably the best team in the AFC East, at least until proven otherwise.

2 — at Cincinnati, Week 4

On top of that, the Bengals are reigning AFC champions and will face Tua Tagovailoa in his debut NFL game against Joe Burrow on Sunday night. And playing them on the road in a Thursday night game adds to the challenge.

1 — at Buffalo, Week 15

This game’s date and time are still up in the air (it’s either Saturday, Dec. 17 or Sunday, Dec. 18), but no matter when it takes place, it will be the most difficult one to prepare for because it will be played in a new location with unpredictable winter weather.
