Early Life

A native of West Newbury, Massachusetts, Cena Jr. was born on April 23, 1977. He is one of John and Carol Cena’s five sons (Steph John Dan Matt Sean). After graduating from Cushing Academy, a private prep boarding school in Massachusetts, he attended Springfield College, where he played football as a freshman. In 1998, he earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from a local community college. Cena worked as a limo driver and pursued a career in bodybuilding to make ends meet.

Career

At Rick Bassman’s Ultimate Pro-Wrestling (UPW) academy in California in 1999, Cena became a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. April 2000 saw him as the holder of the UPW Heavyweight Championship.
