Which Controversies Affected Christian Ziegler?
The Sarasota Police Department has received a complaint alleging that Christian Ziegler is the focus of a criminal investigation into allegations of sexual battery, including r_pe. Ziegler is from Sarasota, where the reported incident is said to have taken place, according to a 13-page report that was made public after being heavily redacted.
Other than that, the story doesn’t go into any more detail. Despite this, Ziegler’s name is absent from the publicly released redacted document. The Florida Center for Government Accountability was the first group to break the story. Derek Byrd, Ziegler’s lawyer, stated in a statement:
“We acknowledge the reports that there is an investigation being conducted by the Sarasota Police Department regarding Mr. Ziegler. Mr. Ziegler has been fully cooperative with every request made by the Sarasota Police Department, We are confident that once the police investigation is concluded that no charges will be filed and Mr. Ziegler will be completely exonerated.”
He continued, saying:
“Unfortunately, public figures are often accused of acts that they did not commit whether it be for political purposes or financial gain. I would caution anyone to rush to judgment until the investigation is concluded.”
Moms for Liberty president and co-founder Tiffany Justice said:
“The things people were saying were so horrific I didn’t want to give an outlet to it. Bridget was an original founder of Moms for Liberty, but she stepped back from the organization’s board in 2021, We have learned long ago to not believe everything we read online, and we are confident she will get to tell her side of things to those who are interested in more than click bait.”
Bridget Ziegler did not comment in response. Following his appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program with California Governor Gavin Newsom, DeSantis addressed reporters, calling the charges “serious” and that Ziegler resign.
