Conrad Francis Dobler was a guard in the NFL for ten seasons, principally with the St. Louis Cardinals, from October 1, 1950, until his death on February 13, 2023. He played for the Cardinals for six seasons after being taken by them in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft.
Dobler played left guard for the “Cardiac Cardinals,” a St. Louis team that also included future Hall of Famer Dan Dierdorf. Dobler made it to the Pro Bowl three times in a row while playing for legendary coach Don Coryell from 1975-1977.
Dobler played a significant role on all three 10-win Cardinals teams that Hall of Fame manager Don Coryell managed in 1974 and 1976. Despite the fact that his career was over, he never stopped being himself, most notably in a series of iconic beer advertisements.

The Cardinals say that Dobler passed away in Pueblo, Colorado on Monday, February 14, 2023. He was 72. A cause of death was not given. It was reported on social media that Dobler had passed away, and a family member has now verified his passing. Dobler was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft after playing collegiate football for the University of Wyoming. From 1972 to 1977, he was the starting right offensive guard for the Cardinals, protecting future Hall of Famer Dan Dierdorf at right tackle.

In 1975, they allowed a record-low eight sacks (though helped by quick releases from quarterback Jim Hart).
