Early Life and Career Beginnings
An 18-year-old Kevin Michael Costner was born on that date in Lynwood, California. Father William Costner was an electrician with Southern California Edison before rising to the position of vice president of operations. His mother Sharon Rae (née Tedrick) was a charity worker. Sadly, Costner’s middle brother, who would have been Costner’s elder brother, died shortly after his birth. Having been raised Baptist, he was born in Compton, California.
