Man, Dead After Shooting Involving Deputies Near Clermont Officials Say
On Friday, the sheriff’s office announced that a well-being check at a home in Clermont ended in a shooting that involved deputies. The shootout resulted in the death of a man. This transpired after deputies reported that they responded to the 9200 block of Pine Island Road in order to conduct a well-being check on a person.

Jim Vachon.
“The individual who called us claimed they hadn’t seen him in a while.” Deputies said that upon their arrival, they were accosted by a guy who they later determined to be Donald Charles Brady, 69 years old, who was armed with both a rifle and a handgun.

The deputies claimed that they took cover and attempted to converse with the man, but the man fled into his residence without answering any of their questions. Prior to the incident, locals were warned to stay away from the area and the crisis negotiation team was brought in, as stated by the sheriff‘s office. During the shooting, at least one deputy fired rounds.
There was no indication from the deputies as to whether or whether Brady also fired rounds. According to what Vachon shared, “(Brady) did aim firearms at our deputies, so we are investigating that part of things as far as a crime.”
